I gotta be honest with you guys, may be jumping the gun but Stillmatic is the greatest Nas album so far

After Nastradaumus a reevaluation was needed and Nas hit the RESET button with this album and took it back to basics

From the very first song Nas is rapping with more intensity than his past 2 albums and his wordplay is at its best

Then it goes into ETHER yea some parts wouldn’t fly today but same with Halftime on Illmatic so who cares the whole song is insane

and he just doesn’t let up from there, the whole album is packed with intensity, great beats, razor sharp flows and bars that are so well crafted and great song topics or themes like Rewind

There wasn’t a single moment on this album I zoned out at all I was super tuned in for the whole hour

as a successor to Illmatic this album is perfect, the perfect natural evolution and Nas at his best

    Classic/10

Favourite Tracks: Stillmatic, Ether, Got Urself A Gun, Smokin, You’re Da Man, Rewind, One Mic, 2nd Childhood, The Flyest, Rule, My Country

    Least favourite: N/A

    updated discography ranking:

    Stillmatic
    Illmatic
    It Was Written
    I Am
    Nastradaumus

Hold on, i'm confused with the discography rankings. The other day you had "I Am" over "It Was Written", now you switched it back to having "It Was Written" over "I Am", lol

Was that a mistake that you accidentally made or did you change your mind and think "It Was Written" is better after all?

Content wise Stillmatic is much better than Blueprint

Prod wise I can understand why ppl would argue otherwise

yea blueprint is more fun and poppier but i feel like if stillmatic came out first with ether jay would’ve come with a completely different album

Yeah it’s nastradamus tier, so happy when it was officially removed

it’s all about perspective cause if that was on nastradaumus it’d probably be one of the better songs

just a step below the ginuwine collab

I always try super hard to love Vol 1-3, especially Vol 1 bc goddamn the highs are so good, but the filler tracks just never click no matter how many spins I give em

    No I feel you 100%

That album has some of his best songs Intro, Who You Wit2, Where Im From

I Know What Girls Like might be the worst song he’s ever put on an album to me

Vol 2 is the worst to me. Cant stand Swizz Beats

Nah not for me. Illmatic and it was written better than anything Jay has ever been a part of. Also arguably Stillmatic and lost tapes

    Respectable

Reasonable Doubt and Black Album will always be too special to me. Agree to disagree on that 🥂
