With that being said
Nas was ready to throw a punch
“Said you gonna kidnap my what and spit at my what ??”
Hung up the phone and the phone rang
I’m laid in the bed thinking bout this pretty young thing
Who left and came back
Her clothes just fell to the rug
She fell to my bed and gave me a hug
I told her “no hell”, she takin bout “me kiss”
Bobbed her head and spit a nut back in my d***
Recently revisited Stillmatic
So much heat on there bruh was on another level on that album
Nas was def in his bag, love his performance
damn stillmatic review revived this thread after nastradaumus flopped
Whats your thoughts on "What Goes Around"?
Also is it just me that thinks It Was Written is boring despite it being great lyrically. Sonically i find it boring

it’s alright not one of my favourites but it flows well
anti vax stuff is especially nowadays but when an album is a classic you’ll let stuff slide

Production wise it sounds like a more polished illmatic, which I guess can take away from what makes that sound special (the rawness and authenticity)

yep that’s why i liked I Am more at first it embraced mainstream sounds way better
but it was written got a magic to it

that song leads to him working mostly with that producer on the next 4 albums lol.
Stillmatic’s production is underrated
yea the production has aged pretty good too.
Nas used to get so much s*** for constantly working with Salaam Remi after Stillmatic but they definitely got some classic songs together like Made You Look lol.
Not mad at this opinion, it’s a classic no doubt. But before you leave this album you need to listen to the track they deleted from history
This was the track right after the flyest when I bought the cd on drop day!
I remember reading some place that Mary J Blige requested the song be removed

She a Nas fan

I know what you mean
There’s a certain rawness that’s missing
The production is clean but doesn’t have very distinct qualities. Overall the beats are solid and cohesive so getting through the album isn’t a task. I Gave You Power is one of Premier best beats and one of Nas best songs too
Whole album is at least an 8/10 for me though
I gotta be honest with you guys, may be jumping the gun but Stillmatic is the greatest Nas album so far
After Nastradaumus a reevaluation was needed and Nas hit the RESET button with this album and took it back to basics
From the very first song Nas is rapping with more intensity than his past 2 albums and his wordplay is at its best
Then it goes into ETHER yea some parts wouldn’t fly today but same with Halftime on Illmatic so who cares the whole song is insane
and he just doesn’t let up from there, the whole album is packed with intensity, great beats, razor sharp flows and bars that are so well crafted and great song topics or themes like Rewind
There wasn’t a single moment on this album I zoned out at all I was super tuned in for the whole hour
as a successor to Illmatic this album is perfect, the perfect natural evolution and Nas at his best
Classic/10

This s*** was goofy. He was brave for releasing it in the first place
you owe me is my jam fr
really gotta thank timbaland though for the beat and getting ginuwine though
nas is good but those two things do the most heavy lifting
reminds me of being at chuck e cheese as a kid for some reason, i probably heard it as a kid without knowing, or maybe it was in a movie
