God’s Son gotta be Nas’ most personal album to date and it cuts deep for the most part
his religion and his mom are big focuses on this album along with your usual Nas subjects about the hood and a better world but he’s still very much one of the greatest rappers
Beat wise it’s a range from usual Nas beats to more stripped back personal beats that do a great job setting the mood, except Zone Out🚮
I think there’s some songs that just blend in around the middle but overall this album starts and finishes very strong, Dance and Heaven
8.5/10
Best songs: Get Down, The Cross, Last Real N**** Alive, Thugz Mansion, Dance, Heaven
Worst song: Zone Out

It was his most personal up to Life Is Good
Last Real Nigga Alive is fire
Imagine a nigga winning a beef with you then making a detailed play by play song of how he did it

The funny thing is he already wrote something similar to what you described on the same album with You're da Man
With Ether he went for the kill, then You're da Man was the eulogy
Tbh Street's Disciple is also a personal album with diary-like lyrics but it's one of the few Nas albums most people don't like
No made you look in favorites is crazy
No book of rhymes? Smh
Love alchemist, love Nas, but that song is just okay for me
Dance is one of the most emotional songs i've ever heard, this s*** have me in tears every single time
No made you look in favorites is crazy
forgot it when i wrote the songs but i didn’t feel like going back to add it in
i really like the beat

What about this version
forgot it when i wrote the songs but i didn’t feel like going back to add it in
i really like the beat
Got it in my workout playlist
Pumps me up
gotta be honest, Street’s Disciple is
review soon
Cut in half it’d be a great album tbh
Street’s Disciple is simultaneously an interesting and uninteresting album
Nas finally gets to make his big double album he’s wanted to do since the 90s but it misses the mark
I was interested to see what he would do with so much time and tracks and it’s all over the place
when Nas is in his pocket he’s as great as always but it feels like the resurgence that happened with Stillmatic/Lost Tapes/God’s Son is over and he’s settled back down and we have more s***and relationship songs that I didn’t like on the 90s albums, even if he’s better at making some of them now
After a strong start the album quickly lost footing and went all over the place, beats, lyrics and hook wise
It’s slightly better than average and better than Nastradaumus but I won’t be listening again
6/10
Best Songs: Nazareth Savage, American Way, Reason, You Know My Style, Me & You
Worst Song: Remember The Times
forgot to mention but i feel like by 2004 Nas ear for beats was starting to fail him when you think of what other popular rappers were doing around that time
especially when College Dropout and Black Album came before this
