Do you guys honestly believe his new s*** is straight trash,or are you just disappointed that his output isn't up to the same quality of his previous projects ends believe they could be been better than what they were?

(Purely speaking about his musical side, couldn't care less about arguing this man's political choices the nigga is grown)

Don't get me wrong,I did NOT like Jesus Is King when it dropped, but some fans act so hyperbolic about this man's music that they sound like forgotten stepchildren and I'm tryna see where everyone's heads at.

by normal standards his new stuff is okay

by kanye standards they're way below what we're used to

and with all the Yandhi leaks we know that he's capable of still putting up things that are up to the quality that we're used to

so it's frustrating to say the least that the material he's put out is way below what we're used to AND we see that he has material that is up to par in the vault

Kanye's only "miss" was a couple tracks on ye.

    JIK was amazing
    JIK era was amazing

And I didn't like nah nah nah at first.
But it grew on me real quick.
Even if ye isn't saying much, his energy is there

i think he's really taken an interest to the idea of "streaming" as being the main way music is released these days. his stuff pre-tlop felt "cohesive" because albums were genuine tangible things; once it's put on a CD it's basically done unless u really wanna confuse your audience by releasing new CDs of the same (but altered) album

streaming changes that n he saw the opportunity with TLOP

his output since then has seemed more like streams of consciousness put onto streaming services; he's referencing current stuff all the time knowing that it's gonna be heard by people at a very similar time to when whatever event he's referencing occurred

which is much easier to do now than when CDs controlled how/when music was put out

i personally love the idea though i do miss the projects that felt more "whole". i think JIK seems like a decent mesh between the 2 different ideas i mentioned above. it's rooted in something definitive (jesus) yet he's still referencing his current time a lot

nah nah nah is definitely one of those stream-of-consciousness type things too. came out right when he thought he got a lot of poll activity and the song reflects such

The leaks that are out there gets me mad as f*** too that he really thought “nah nah nah” was an acceptable song to put out.

By Your Side is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve heard all year and it’s unfuckingfinished!!!

He can still do good s***!

  • Production and creativity wise he hasn't lost a beat since 2004, just no more focused projects since yeezus. TLOP and KSG some of his best work tho. JIK is my least fav kanye album I still bump on god, follow god, use this gospel like everday

yeah I truly dont understand why he puts so much attention towards nah nah nah when he got s*** ike future sounds, alien, by your side, and glory in the vault. maybe he's not interested in making masterpieces anymore

He still has the ability to make catchy stuff but there's no depth anymore; for me the comparison between Pablo and Ye is such a clear divider of where the quality drops

nah nah nah is pretty much an attention grabber i think
he didn't emphasize it cus he thought everyone would adore it but rather cus he knew it'd be a provocative thing to release

    n it certainly was

    hell yea

but its like a new era

the standards have changed in rap in general but deep down we know the old s*** is musically better

u gotta compare him to current trends (even then s*** is wack)

  • Nov 12, 2020

loooooool you know how many times people said ye forgot how to rap?

at one point people thought he was giving us a country album, cus thats all he knew

everyone needs to relax. nah nah nah was trash because of the high pitched voice, hes been off beat for a couple loosies, but all the leaks say otherwise

    I really like Ye

People harp on Ye’s rapping trending downwards but he was never a great rapper or a respected lyricist so its whatever

JIK was a solid gospel album and Ye was a really good personal look into Ye’s mind, never understood the dislike for it

  • Nov 12, 2020

As a fan since TCD, Stan from MBDTF-TLOP, then back to fan. He just hasn’t released good music.
I’m fine with his antics if he can back it up musically but he can’t.
Ye was okay at first but aged bad. KSG is great. JIK is okay but nothing to go back too.
Most of his new singles have been to whack coming from someone who enjoyed Lift Yourself

I liked Ye when it released but haven’t went back in almost a year. That entire era leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Everything was rushed and I felt he prioritized the antics over the art.

JIK is very lackluster which sucks compared to the effort he put in videos and marketing it. His best years are behind him if we are being honest, it took me so long to admit that to myself. It’s infuriating that he spends a lot of time working on music more than ever compared to post- Yeezus Ye but the outcomes are always subpar. Sometimes it feels like he puts little no effort in rapping anymore.

Also I’d like to mention that the fandom is worse then it’s ever been. It’s full of young kids who honestly have no clue why Kanye was so revered as an artist and icon. They blindly follow his words and eat up his new music. It’s so cringe seeing these new Ye stan IG accounts jack the minimalist/futurist/Blade Runner aesthetic from each other.
