I don't know if it's in the article I linked but they actually had nice land and were respected and left alone UNTIL they supported the South during the Civil War then the North withdrew their treaties and started getting back at them for the injustices of slavery.

this reminds me of those school books in the south that say a lot of slaves had a great time and were treated very well by their masters

sorry i have no pity for people who enslaved my people, have showed no remorse, and actually made laws to get the descendants of the slaves they had removed from cherokee native American settlements unless they could prove they were "cherokee by blood". This was in 2007.

if you can understand other ethinicities as actually not being monolithic groups or even groups at all beyond a definiton applied to them by powerful people I think you can undertand that this does not nearly include all the 500+ native tribes much less indegenous latinos and carribeans that also lived in America
