Final late late night thought while Ivy week commences:

Think my absolute favorite version of this track is the live version he played at Way Out West with a full orchestra in support. Strings mirrored melody, sounded so gorgeous.

I’ve only remembered seeing this short clip of the version, hoping to find the full thing

I'm gonna try to find it, a full recording of Way Out West performance was posted on YouTube in 2017 but removed for copyright, we need it

Not the same performance but I found the audio version of Ivy with orchestra from Flow Festival, its the whole performance actually :)

Frank please PLEASE release something to end the misery in this thread.

No. The misery has to go on for an eternity. This is what his fans deserves for overrating his ass and his boring music that makes white men cream for some reason. I pray Frank never releases any music while he is alive.

    Omg

Frank Ocean gems buried in nth reply on Reddit thread crine, instant download

Orchestra never made an appearance for the entirety of that 2017 festival run and annoyingly not for stops that have footage everywhere (FYF for example)

    Genuinely thanks for the find

  • Wow bridge is complete #eargasm

  • Yeah that’s the best version of the song man sorry

  • Ivy live sounds perfect

    Away turf no astro
    mesmerized by the strobes glow
look at all the people feet dance

and new york times didn’t put him as the number one living american songwriter ??? at least in the top 30? f***ing insane i don’t know anyone more pure when it comes to american singer songwriters

man’s pen is up there with literary heroes

For him, to say to the people who cared about and supported his music and made him rich over the years ‘yes, I am now retired’ or ‘I still intend to release music one day’ would it pain him that much?

Cause just some clarity would be nice after all this time so I don’t sometimes fantasize about a fantasy Frank Ocean album that doesn’t exist

he’s not entitled to say s*** tbh

i hate this sentiment bc if he dropped a quality album tomorrow, none of this would mean anything.

he’s not delivering a product that consumers are entitled to. imma sound like a pretentious teenager but he’s only delivered great art.

his run is solid enough that it speaks for itself. i don’t really need press releases from bro every 2 years like hey still working on music guys!

Song is absolutely beautiful. So simple yet it's so unique. Im still obsessed with the dubby fx on his vocals. His performance itself is legendary

I still don't specifically know what this song is about, but it's part of the appeal. it clearly suggests nostalgia, looking back on a particular relationship, and the melancholic passing of time, but he leaves it ambiguous enough to connect our own dots. The lyrics and overall feeling of this song give murakami vibes. or like u on a beach, looking at a sunset alone for the first time in years.

He's partly known for his knack of tapping into feelings of nostalgia and people who loved and lost. and this song is prob his most potent example of that. Classic track.

Side bar: This song in particular inspired my own sound for like 3-4 years after this dropped lmfao. My most viewed work till this day. He cracked a code with this

Blonde is a story told from Nikes to Fuutura Free. He’s looking back at his youth, and Nikes is him meeting someone at a party who he has a relationship/fling with.

I just want Frank to stop dropping overpriced merch. But that’s not gonna stop mfs here and on reddit from buying a vinyl without the full album (channel orange)
