Willie Brown has been charged in the jailhouse stabbing of YSL defendant Shannon Stillwell.
why is there like 1 day of trial every 10 years when are they gonna finish it
if i was on the jury i wouldn't even remember what was said last time they met up
YSL trial resumes today after several weeks off. The last day the jury heard evidence was Dec. 8, 2023.
Shortly after, defendant Shannon Stillwell was stabbed in jail. This caused a week delay in addition to the 2 weeks already scheduled to be dark for the holidays.
The first witness was State's witness #8, Officer Antonio Skeet.
His testimony was related to the testimony from Friday, regarding Thug being pulled over with a stolen gun.
Here's today's (Jan 2) recap:
Overall, today was uneventful and pretty short. Court was in session for roughly 4 hours today.
First witness today was former security guard at Perimeter mall, Dwight Hutchins. His testimony was about the July 2015 incident at the mall with Young Thug and others on hover boards.
Witness #2 was former Dunwoody police officer Mark Stevens. Witness #3 was Officer Sean Lenahan. These witnesses are both testifying about the July 7, 2015 mall incident listed as overt act 51 in the indictment. States witness #31 is EDC Randolph . He’s the last witness related to the 2015 thug mall threats incident.
States Witness #32 was Officer Cogdell. He testified to a hit and run involving Shannon Stillwell aka SB. Guns and bullets found in his car that SB ditched, before leading the officer on a foot chase.
The first co-defendant was set to testify today, but looks like it might be tomorrow. Trontavious Stephens aka Tick aka Slug took a plea deal on 12/29/22.
He faced 5-20 yrs on the single RICO count he was charged with. He rec'd 10 yrs with 2 yrs time served & remaining 8 yrs on probation. His agreement was he had to testify and cannot invoke the 5th.
Slug’s been hilarious on the stand today lol
Slug’s been hilarious on the stand today lol
Yes he has. He’s saying a lot while saying nothing at all…so far.
Today's (Jan 3) recap
The first witness today was officer Kirton Raymond.
Co-defendant Trontavious Stephens aka Slug took the stand. According to his plea deal he cannot invoke the 5th on statements he's given to the state.
Slug was very carefully how he answered questions and alot of times didn't answer the way the DA wants.
Certain gang stuff he confirmed like his gang affiliation and Young Thug being one of the founders of YSL.
Jan 3 notable dialogue part 1:
Slug testified he joined ROC crew when he was 14, and he was brought in by his deceased friend known as “Boo”.
“Did you and ROC crew ever commit crimes together?”
“No.”
The state asks Slug for specific names of people in ROC crew. Slug is obviously very very hesitant.
“Name the people who were in ROC crew with you”
“You really wanna me name me basically everyone i grew up with? You gonna tell me when to stop ?”
“It was 10-11 years ago, i don’t remember by heart m’aam!! Im tryna name everyone in my street to help you out!”
Then he starts by naming his random neighbor, frustrating the ADA.
He refuses to admit that anyone is a leader. “I didn’t take orders from anybody, nah”
The ADA asks if he recognizes Brian Steel and Jeffery Williams in the courtroom. He says yes.
The ADA asks why Slug declined to speak to her, but accepted to speak to Steel.
Slug says he didn’t have his lawyer with him, so he refused to speak to her.
Slug admits to everyone in ROC crew having common colors, handshakes, language, etc. His plea required him to do so.
He admits ROC crew was affiliated with SMM (sex money murder) and it was a blood set.
She asks him to demonstrate to the jury. all hand gang signs he knows SMM uses. He says he can only recall 2 of them.
“Anyone in this courtroom claim S***Money Murder to your knowledge?”
“Nope.”
“What would make you think someone is affiliated with SMM?”
“If they told me they were i guess”
Jan 3 notable dialogue part 2:
They then moved onto instagram posts depicting him allegedly promoting the gangs he was in (hand signs, clothes, emojis, tattoos, etc)
“Were you one of the founding members of the gang Young Slime Life”
“Yes”
“Who are the other founding members of YSL?”
“Walter Murphy and Jeffery Williams”
Slug says Thug got the word “Slime” from Wayne, who was both of their idols
They are getting into the Lil Wayne tour bus shooting now.
Slug says he and other YSL members were at Wayne’s show in Atlanta that day.
Half day tomorrow. Might be off Friday.
Back with Slug's testimony tomorrow.
if you had to call the verdict now what would you say
their evidence cant be that good if they are referencing rap lyrics so much
this should not be possible
yeah the more they rely on lyrics the more this trial comes off like a mf clown show. i want slime to go free so bad bros
if you had to call the verdict now what would you say
Too early to tell right now.
Most of this trial has been expert testimony from police officers and a***ysts. Nothing too serious.
Slug, who is testifying right now, is the first major witness on the stand. He's one of the cofounders of YSL.
So far, Slug has done a good job evading certain questions and not saying anything too damaging for Thug. But because of his plea deal, he has to admit to certain things (ex. gang stuff) that might hurt Thug's case.
We also have to see how well Thug's team cross examines Slug and the other witnesses.
The prosecution has so much witnesses and we have to go through months of this, so it's gonna be hard to convince a jury that Thug is innocent in all this.
I'll get a better sense of things as more key witnesses hit the stand.
yeah the more they rely on lyrics the more this trial comes off like a mf clown show. i want slime to go free so bad bros
Free thug he aint do s*** except kill a couple people
Can somebody ITT give me a summary of what’s happened so far? I’ve not really been able to catch it
