Bumped my self esteem and now I think I'm adored
Let me through the door or else I'll come through the walls
Discipline is a skill. Most certainly needed to get far in anything.
But discipline based on self hate will only get you up til a point is my belief
Self-hate will get you nowhere! As I became more and more positive (I would say even realistic, simply not-negative) about myself, I became that much more ambitious and driven to achieve and to continue to improve!

As you should broski
Always found it a little corny when people post this song on social media but I feel it fits this thread pretty well
Ngl I'm not doing so good rn. I feel like crying all the time, simply bc I can't seem to mentally block out all the suffering that's constantly present in the world.

Protect yourself before you allow yourself to carry the world’s weight on your mind.
Cut off news or socials if needed. Focus on improving your own life, that way you will have saved humanity from another troubled mind. And more could follow.
Nope. Being hard on yourself only promotes discipline. Necessary life skill
To an extent sure but even for myself I was beating myself up all too much for no reason. Changed things up and I feel way better than ever before. There is a balance and it is about being real and honest with yourself. Checking yourself when you are out of line and learning from your mistakes.
Life ain’t easy but you can make it easier on yourself by changing the way you view things. If all you are doing is promoting negative energy that’s all you’ll get back.

I feel you bro. I consider myself a pretty empathetic person and I used to get really weighed down by all the negativity in this world.
While there is horrible suffering constantly on this Earth there are beautiful things to appreciate about life as well, and while that doesn't cancel out the negatives I feel that if you focus on and appreciates the positives it can give you more drive and strength to take on the evils of the world.
The most we can do is just be good to the people around us and hope that the positive energy we give eachother will be passed forward to others
Honestly just the fact you feel this way is a sign you have a kind soul

I replied within my sister thread to this one
I respect your view
Need both views if you wanna get going and then keep it going

Yes. I hope we start helping eachother and ourselves to do better in life instead of the trajectory it seems to be going in the world

My mind is going in a thousand different directions rn, so I'll just say: thank you, for understanding me, for emotionally supporting me, and for the kind words. Ily.

What if I call my past self a complete dumb ass? And call my current self a petard at times?

"I’m convinced that the only right way to do this game called life is to instill in yourself the deeprooted belief that you are a good person and you mean well, and that the mistakes you make can never define nor tarnish that core truth about you."
Want to highlight this part because this part spoke to me in particular. Sometimes it feels like we carry the weight of our previous actions on our shoulders and allow them to define us, or at least feel like they do.
We don't always make the right mistakes and we don't always do right by people but it's important to forgive yourself. A lot of us do bad things in this life, but don't let those things define you. You are still capable of changing and becoming a good person.
You'd be surprised at how much more positive life and your social interactions become when you aren't walking around with weight of self guilt and self demonization on your conscious
