Not to be too galaxy brained about it but I think that’s the point

Like the idea of it being a “rap show” or a show abt Atlanta or a quirky comic relief charecter like Darius & even the Donald clover of it all is like bait for the actual show, when you get that stuff it’s like candy but U get all this really substantive sht with it that a lot of like Donald glover fan types prob wouldn’t watch if it was just a seperate hiro murai project or something it’s like a Trojan horse for the actual show

Again maybe I’m looking way too deep but I think your reaction “it’s like rocket science” is also kind of the point, like that’s what the whiteness this show is speaking directly to is like a lot of the time where ppl come along for the show & dance and then when it gets to the real s*** abt black issues those people 360 moonwalk out cus it gets too difficult or uncomfortable (which the show isn’t all the eps are entertaining as s*** but still) it’s actually not rocket science at all, the eps are really contained & digestible cus the crew is pretty elite at just fundamental tv making stuff maybe it feels that way cus it wasn’t what you were expecting

As a black man, I’m tired of having everything be boiled down to race. Do I know the reality?Absolutely! I’ve been at the end of it several times in life, but it doesn’t mean I want it thrown in my face everywhere I turn. My whole life I’ve had to deal with the subject of race to the point where I’m so completely over it.

Not that it doesn’t exist, it does, but we can’t go one day without be constantly reminded of it in one fashion or another.

While Seasons 1 and 2 did touch on race, as well, it wasn’t always so centrally focused around it, at least not in my opinion.

This season is so enveloped in the subject of racism that it’s becomes a bore to watch. While the actors are obviously grade A, and the l filming is top notch too, the content just becomes so forced and played out.

Last thing I’ll say is, can we not just have some entertainment that doesn’t play so heavy on race, so we can have an escape from reality? Dealing with it in everyday life is enough, sometimes we want a break from it too, not a reminder of the obvious.
