Stephen Glover just did an interview about season 3 that is a really good read. Really puts in perspective what their goal was for this season . He answered a lot of questions

""Oh season 3 is coming back. I got to watch seasons 1 and 2 to refresh my memory." And I was like, "No, you don't. You're not going to have to do that at all." And I think that helps the language of the show in a different way when people can just hop in."
But Donald, that's exactly why we watch TV, continuity is important because then you just have a jumbled up mess that starts off as something and then completely becomes a new shows before it even finishes. You sold us Atlanta (Earn, Darius, Al, Van, etc) so give us that lol. Like, imagine if The Godfather turned into a rom-com by the end of the 3rd movie.
This guy is so unbelievably pretentious talking like he's somehow reinvented TV. You just made a trash season bro, get over yourself. Tbh, only someone who claims his show will be mentioned amongst the likes of the GREATEST shows ever could be this delusional.
I wonder how old Lottie is now, wasn’t mentioned at all
I remember in season 1, she was a baby/toddler. but then in season 2, she seemed like kindergarten age. given the time and the way this show works, we’ll probably see her heading off to college in season 4

This is his brother, not Donald
This is his brother, not Donald
Still applies, they both share equal creative control

nah he has a point, the format of tv now is based on being able to binge entire seasons
i think it’s the opposite of pretentious to want to have a wider audience. s1 and 2 are amazing and still essential for understand the finer details of s3,
but it was fun to be able to tel my friends, hey let’s watch the new episode of atlanta, without all of them having watched it
the first episode was sick to watch stand-alone and even the main character episodes work standalone imo (new jazz being one of the exceptions)
Disappointing season tbh, the shrooms episode was aight but the rest felt like filler, didn’t really take the characters anywhere meaningful imo
about to rewatch season 3 but this was a great season to watch as it came out imo
im interested to rewatch with expectations of not getting a full story with the main cast
ik a lot of ppl are saying « it sucks the episode summed up to racism is bad »
but im honestly thrilled we basically got a black mirror on american’s inability to confront it’s historical demons, it really shows how we’re all haunted and we’re quite confused on how to go forward
How was this season? Didn’t see anything yet
even if you hate it, you will walk out of it feeling something
