Morrowind and skyrim are a decade apart and the difference is staggering
Just as Skyrim and outer worlds.
Half Life 1 and 2 are only 6 years apart. Let it sink lmao
WRONG 😂 a decade ago I was playing Call of duty 4 modern warfare, now I’m playing call of duty modern warfare.
They innovated by dropping the number 4
Cant speak on Half Life cuz I've never played it BUT
You legit picked the worst game devs to prove your point, its Bethesda, of course they havent progressed lmao
And Outer Worlds is an okay game but remember that the team that made it is way smaller in comparison to Bethesda
Outer Worlds is decent for an AA title
I don't know. Despite the overall model of Ghost Recon: Breakpoint being asscheeks, some of those animations + how your character reacts to the world are pretty damn progressive.
Compared to something like MGS3, it definitely improved upon that system.
RDR1/ RDR2
Skyward Sword/Breath of The Wild
MGS3/MGSV
VR as a whole
The Switch as a whole

There's like minimal progregress between RDR from 2011 and a new title
Compare 2005 RDR and 2011, that's s difference

What’s the minimal progression? They added literally so much to that game
crossplay between different consoles, pc & mobile for s*** like fortnite is pretty big imo
dreams of a world where buying one platform = play whatever u want.
bummer that stadia flopped but playing RDR & AC on your phone is quite cool
Are you talking graphics, gameplay, design, or what?
I’d argue everything except gameplay has progressed quite a bit. I just feel like it’s hard to progress gameplay a crazy amount without going whacky and losing the fun.
Battle Royale’s have ruined multiplayer, Bethesda is no a greedy microtransactions company, Metal Gear is dead without Kojima... if anything gaming has regressed.
OP just means graphics. PS2/Xbox to PS3/Xbox 360 era was a massive leap because of High Definition, faces actually looked like faces instead of polygon messes. Graphics will continue to improve but we'll never see a leap like that again, it doesn't mean that gaming isn't progressing. For example, animations and lip-syncing are far better right now in most games than they were a few years ago
Personally, I'd be happy if games stayed at this level visually but they focused on performance instead. Give me 60 FPS smoothness throughout, not the game pausing slightly whenever I open the menu in TW3

yeah RDR went from one of the greatest games of all time to a boring interactive movie
Play games outside your comfort zone & try different developers
Smells like a lot of regular in op, as if that hasn't been the case for every gen lol
The rise of the indie dev should be giving us new ideas n s*** but it isnt outside the 2D genre.

So you don’t like firewatch or no mans sky?
