Xbox one is still the standard for online multiplayer and 3rd party games
Microsoft just fumbled the initial launch so badly and weren’t able to recover.
Xbox is more powerful, runs third party games better, has a better controller, much better online service. Xbox will always be the console platform for serious multiplayer gaming.
PlayStation will always be a console focused on exclusive single player experiences
Your best bet is having an Xbox one x and only ever using your PlayStation or switch to play an exclusive until you beat it
No one is playing XBox One. There's not even a reason to own a One.
2 is way better a narrative than 1 with or without context
thats because RDR 2 is a great movie not a great videogame
I mean the 360 was clearly better than the PS3. The 360 set the standard for online multiplayer. PS3 was trash till damn near the end of its cycle when it had a few title exclusives worth checking out.
Nahhhhh
The PS3 was better than the 360. Better games and free online. And the controller was on par with the 360 controller
360 was better than ps3 but PS4 better than x1
Microsoft could comeback next year who knows

The online was free because it never f***ing worked lmao. Nobody was playing PS3 for multiplayer. That post is pure f***ing ignorance. People only bought PS3 for brand loyalty or the few exclusives that released late during its time.

Modern Warefare 2 and all the CODs had a lot of people online. As did Uncharted 2, 3, and Fat Princess.
Lots of people played online on the PS3 because it was free.
I can tell you I used to play online a lot on PS3 and have never once touched PS4 online.
Because imaging paying twice for internet essentially
PS3 still the GOAT console to me (even if Ps2 has better games as a whole library)
Nobody was playing that s*** competitively.
This is a bad metric to go by

No it isn't. The competitive scene itself has help set the standard of multiplayer games.

People other than competitive players play online LOL

No s***? But the scene drives certain standards when creating multiplayer games. Nobody takes s*** like uncharted multiplayer seriously.
VR is going to blow up in the 2020s
You think it will be that big?
I know a lot of people who would rather come home after a long day, sit down on the couch and pick up a controller and game. I think VR will get bigger than before but I still think it’s a bit niche.
You have to have the space/equipment and most importantly desire to actually want to VR game at home even if it’s technically a good product.
Like I love VR. There is this dope place with smashball or whatever and it’s insanely fun. My friend has a VR headset and it’s fun but I would never ever own on myself. I don’t see the point of playing it at home when I can relax with a control in hand or relax with Netflix.
Maybe I’m off base but I feel a lot of people will share that sentiment.
F*** multiplayer and DLC. Games were more innovative when they were forced to give u everything ONE TIME.
RDR1/ RDR2
Skyward Sword/Breath of The Wild
MGS3/MGSV
VR as a whole
The Switch as a whole
The switch is a modern Sega Game Gear. Next.
VR has existed for decades as well

I disagree with this. A lot of people took it seriously back in the day. Just because it’s not an esport doesn’t mean you can’t take online seriously.
I can 100% tell you I took Fat Princess online seriously and I was too 20 in the world in that game. It’s the only game I’ve ever been good at so you know dang well I took it seriously.
Besides, outside of fighting games and exclusives like Halo, most competitive games are played through PC anyway. Halo didn’t revolutionalize esports.
If anything PC deserves the credit not Xbox if you arguing competitive multiplayer.
Of course Halo and COD made multiplayer popular and that was largely due to Xbox but I don’t think it’s fair to credit competitiveness to just Xbox when PC has a bigger influence in competitive gaming if you talking actual competitive.
And like I said, even if it wasn’t esports money or a leaderboard, people could get competitive on PS3/PS4. People went HAM on COD back in the day, even on PS3.

Peak games were the PS2 era, peak gaming experience was the PS3 era.
Remember when Xbox tried to be "progressive" and "innovative" with that whole reverse DRM/Used Game Fee crap?

Most FGC tournaments use ps4, even if the game isn't ps4 exclusive .

PS2, 360 and GameCube was truly our last great era

Looking back at it now, I can't help but feel like they did that stuff for attention/create controversy just to backtrack and make it seem like they "care" about the consumers. There's no way they actually thought s*** like that was gonna fly lol
