There's like minimal progregress between RDR from 2011 and a new title
Compare 2005 RDR and 2011, that's s difference
Because they were both predicated off of two vastly different ideas. Revolver had Capcom involved and was made specifically to be a wacky arcade shooter then when Rockstar shed Capcom as a publisher they specifically wanted to stray from that and create a movie-like western expierence. And for RDR 1- RDR2 bro that s*** is such an insane step up, RDR 1 feels enormously empty when you go back to it after playing RDR 2 it’s literally amped up to 11 on multiple aspects in 2, the sheer amount of systems working behind the scenes in that game is honestly mindblowing. RDR 2 is a game I’ve beat twice both 80 hour playthroughs and I STILL have the itch to play it again, no other game has ever done that for me

Is it worth picking up if I haven't been into open world story driven games since gt4 ? I like the western setting though.

Yes for sure bro
You just gotta play it for what it is though and not try and rush everything like you would in GTA where it’s hop in a car, goto mission marker, do mission, hop in car, goto mission marker etc I mean you could do that for sure if you wanted but It’s not meant to be that it’s meant to be more methodical and once you get the feeling of that it’s like nothing else. It’s one of the first game worlds I truly felt apart of and lived in. I’d pick it up and play for 2-5 hours a night (which is the best time to play imo) and just go and do s*** whether it be a story mission, side mission, hanging out at the camp just f***ing around drinking and listening to the crew belt out songs around a campfire, hunting and so on I never felt pressured to just complete a checklist the game goes at your pace and has plenty of things to do in between dynamically rather than most games that are just tediously going from story mission to story mission. It’s a huge accomplishment in video game storytelling, characters, systems & graphics imo
So you don’t like firewatch or no mans sky?
Not really lol.
Think id rather become an accountant than grind in no mans sky lol
XBox has provided 0 competition for Sony. The quality of games have shown yet people lap that s*** up for no reason.
yup sony god
What I said wasn't a good thing lel

I wouldnt call it winning when the other guy doesnt even make it to the starting line.
While gaming mechanics hasnt advanced, how companies make money from games has really progressed thought, with mobile games and all the ways that they can make money from loot boxes to competitive gaming. Gaming will never die out with the progress made in this decade due to those factors.

Been like that from the very start or the Xbox imo
Only thing Microsoft had over sony was halo

I mean the 360 was clearly better than the PS3. The 360 set the standard for online multiplayer. PS3 was trash till damn near the end of its cycle when it had a few title exclusives worth checking out.

Oh so the s***tiest anti fun, anti consumer practice that was prelevant in Asia now gained foothold in the west with ptw and nonsensical micro transactions is "progress" for you ?
yeah RDR went from one of the greatest games of all time to a boring interactive movie
rdr 1 to rdr 2 is disappointment of the decade
I’m PRAYING they don’t f*** up last of us 2
JRPGs have changed a lot if the change is good or bad is another thing.
Same with fighting games

Xbox one is still the standard for online multiplayer and 3rd party games
Microsoft just fumbled the initial launch so badly and weren’t able to recover.
Xbox is more powerful, runs third party games better, has a better controller, much better online service. Xbox will always be the console platform for serious multiplayer gaming.
PlayStation will always be a console focused on exclusive single player experiences
Your best bet is having an Xbox one x and only ever using your PlayStation or switch to play an exclusive until you beat it
