What’s wild is the whole point of Dave’s who gives a f*** about what Ja Rule thinks joke was that we shouldn’t look to celebrities period during tough times. But the joke became all about clowning Ja and we now look to Chappelle for a state of the union speech after every election or tragedy.
and it's crazy cuz even now Dave is still pushing the same message but it's lost on people lol
GRODT Soundtrack, the best tracks off Beg For Mercy, I Get money off of Curtis, How We Do, Hate it Or Love it, damn near every track off Power Of The Dollar was hard,
this site stay acting like GRODT was the only good thing 50 did lol
I grew up witnessing that era and 50 Cent never did a thing for me. I do prefer The Massacre over Get Rich or Die Tryin though. I hardly remember a thing from Beg For Mercy. Also Power of the Dollar aged like dogshit b...I'm tired of y'all bringing that unreleased ass album up lmao I gave that joint a listen the other day and I totally understand why it was unreleased now
Ghetto Qu'ran and Money By Any Means still hit at least.

Imma agree to disagree. I don't see a world where POTD aged poorly but Mesmerized & other Ja singles didn't. How To Rob, Life's On The Line, & the previous two you named get play in my rotation as well as I'm A Hustler & others.
And yea i grew up in that era too. Another thing to keep notice of is that even in a Verzuz format, which is like what 25 songs?, all 50 would need is GRODT & The Massacre anyway tbh
Nah I know. I’m saying, how you act post prime can effect how people see your career. Niggas loved Bow Wow back in the day and now he’s a joke to us. Game is going down that road too.
Yeah. It's a shame. Social media and bad decissions ruining careers.
Hot take but the massacre is just as good as get rich its one of his most diverse projects. He got a lil bit of every style on there. Yeah it was more pop friendly with some of the singles but overall the album got strong cuts with a couple misses. And it gave us one of his best songs, a Baltimore love thing
and we gotta factor in he gave Game some of his hardest joints.
i've been saying i'ma revisit it for months now, i'ma pop it on tonight.
Seriously. Power Of The Dollar & Guess Who's Back are really good projects
he should try and get potd released on streams
Outside of his hits im good.
Bro bit dmx n pac like crazy too.
I do think he's more influential than people give credit tho, outside of personal likes n bias.
I still don't get why Ja was so hated, would appreciate if an OG could shed some light on this situation. From what I gathered he was just unlucky to belong to the wrong crews at the wrong time.
He sings for hoes and sounds like the Cookie Monster

The 50/Em beef was crucial, the fed investigations, his sound dying out, etc. He also moves kinda corny so it feeds into things. Most people who "hate" him do it because its the cool thing.

yeah but the girls that listen to him are always the hottest

That's cool but I think a lot of people in the Verzuz segment will rank 50's catalog higher than that.
50's singles are pretty hit or miss and, if the battle is strictly singles, Ja might have the edge.
But Ja doesn't really have an answer to 50's mixtapes, POTD, G-Unit, the movie soundtrack, and 50's features.
Also, 50's diss tracks like Piggy Bank and Life's On The Line will just be embarrassing for Ja to endure since he has no real comebacks for it in music.
Imagine 50 playing those cold ass disses then Ja moving forward and playing "I'm Real" right after lmao.
He was hated because em and 50 stans shifted the narrative on him during the beef and labeled him a singer not a real rapper and clowned him for s*** like doing e which every rapper was doing back then.
They just successfully pushed that narrative into the mainstream that he wasn't a real mc or worthy of respect
when 50 dropped Best Friend he did the exact same thing as Ja :travlaff:
Thats why i always look at hov and nas as lame for hating on 50 and cam.... but when jeezy was at the radio station talking wild s*** about nas, nas didn’t say s*** back..
Niggas aint want that BMF smoke
Niggas aint want that BMF smoke
they had an entire lambo fleet on standby
I tell people bro shoot for the stars aim for the moon is the new age massacre
this makes no sense.
Pop wasn't even finished making that album.
Idk about that I Get Money was a big single, and ayo technology did decent too. Still kill didn't blow up though and fire was hot garbage.
Amusent Park was a single lmao
Jim Jones, Max B & Stack Bundles did the beat justice a year prior tho
this makes no sense.
Pop wasn't even finished making that album.
It makes a lot of sense seeing how the guy who made THE MASSACRE put pop album together...
He sings for hoes and sounds like the Cookie Monster
But 50 literally did the same thing.
What hurt 50 the most was his beef with Jimmy Iovine.
Which gave them incentive to set up that "Graduation" bet that was really just setting 50 up to fail.
But 50 literally did the same thing.
True but 50's love songs honestly sounded more like Mase's than Ja's, especially with that flow he used on them.
