Many people will tell you 2014 FHD is one of the best rap albums oat

There’s no coincidence that Wayne, Drake, and Nicki could all fit this description. Young Money were largely seen as outsiders, especially as a deep south sub-label. We’re seeing YoungBoy experience the same thing.

Wayne was just hated by Em stans for some reason

I don’t like FHD like that anymore but the way KTT downplays this album is some rewriting history bs

Theres no way y'all saying WAYNE wasnt respected during his run

Wayne was getting a lot of hate though mostly by bozos but I do remember those days where people wanted “real rap” back

Drake’s Take Care/NWTS/IYRTITL era wasn’t respected enough either. Maybe got overshadowed by the ghost writing allegations. Looking back that run was crazy.

  • Wonder if Wayne ever saw any of those “ if 2pac were still alive” “ hey McDonald’s, Eminem is back” memes back in the day

Project wasnt even top 3 of 2014 and that was one of the worst years of rap in the decade

singles carried FHD, the album as a whole is mediocrity at its finest

Why you screen shot me like you’re The Riddler

Lol ktt thinks screenshotting you gets them extra points or something.

  • Apr 26, 2022

    Wayne was respected but polarizing.

Everyone knew he could spit but some people didn't like how much he saturated himself during his peak or how his quality of albums started declining after No Ceilings. Then, you had the Recovery era Eminem stans making corny memes about him online.

But Wayne was def respected as a rapper though.

I like FHD but this is a reach.

Not every good album is "one of the best ever." MBDTF and TPAB are arguably the best albums of the 2010's period in any genre of music.

FHD is more of a good album that's regarded as a classic because of its impact and what it did for Cole's career.

    Two totally different levels.

Being popular doesn’t mean they get the respect they deserve. Especially among certain music spaces.

    Big KRIT is another one

yeah, looking back because you didnt witness it goofy

the ghostwriting allegations were in 2015 after he dropped IYRTITL idiot

Literally saved/kept afloat two genres of music that the same time.

Check his features. Labels probably had a checklist and one was “which one of these songs can we send to Lil Wayne.

It seemed Wayne was hated like a mofo online and from some people who didn't know hip hop in that 08-12 era.

I remember having to defend Wayne's honor like crazy on different rap forums back then. It's like niggas were literally praying for his downfall cause of how dominant he was.

But, irl, tons of people were calling Wayne the GOAT or Best Rapper Alive.

I will say this though....2007 era Wayne was one of the most respected rappers ever. He felt invincible and everyone loved him.

2008 was when some of the haters started to get vocal.

This is all facts. I remember fighting a dude in HS because he argued that Ludacris was better than Wayne and I wasn’t having it.
