This movie was dumb fun as expected
I love kong and his story was dope but damn can my nigga Godzilla get some love!

I get the feeling Adam Wingard doesn’t like Godzilla cause everytime he’s on screen it’s always less than 2 min and seems to be Godzilla just killing titans for fan service sake. He gets no where near the love Kong does.

His power up is aesthetically cool but holds no weight and means nothing. Regular Godzilla coulda handled scar and shimo solo. The scale is barely there anymore aside from the Egypt fight.

Also the last fight ended way too quick, i hear the next one is Godzilla focused but honestly I don’t think wingard likes Godzilla enough to do him proper justice imo. We need a new director

This is a valid assessment. Legendary and Wingard have no clue what to do with Godzilla. I personally hope this trend of Kong centric stories comes to an end soon. I get the impression that American audiences don’t quite resonate with Godzilla as much as Kong, which is a damn shame.

I admit to some bias, I’ve always been a Goji fan but he’s the protagonist of this universe. The ideas the filmmakers had in Godzilla and King of the Monsters were actually really interesting. They were probably just a little too esoteric for the west.

Loved this so much. Thought Godzilla was gonna get way too sidelined or something but he was dope and they didn't disrespect him or anything.
I think I liked it more than GvK.
They somehow managed to make me finally like Kong lmao.
One thing I'd say though, is that it's been like 15 years and no film has topped Avatar with the new world discovery thing. I saw Avatar in IMAX 3D during the 2022 re-release and man that might have been one of the best theatre experiences of my life. I really felt like I was visiting a new world. I feel like that magic is missing in this, hollow earth could have been cooler.

Yeah man avatar is unparalleled when it comes to immersion into an alien/fantasy world.
They do a decent enough job with hollow earth tho, I got a lil bit of avatar vibes

They will probably give him a iron man suit tbh
They almost did that with The new empire

Pretty stupid but after the new empire I don’t think they give af anymore

  • Absolute dumpster fest of a movie

F***ing finally. Though I wish we got the destroyah movie while franchise still had a slightly serious tone. I’m afraid they leaned too far into the camp
