Meanwhile it's all people can get a lot of times, they don't have many options or choices so they gotta keep these jobs to keep afloat.
Don't act like everyone who works at lower-paid places can just up and leave and has all this mobility, especially if they're responsible for a family

honestly it wasn’t that bad. since it was totally f***ing pointless i didn’t have to actually do s*** so i just listened to music and walked around looking for big s*** to clean up

Everyone is at a different place in life,
It can take a lot of willpower to take risks (i.e. quitting a job that u don't like, cause of uncertainty), and some people aren't always ready to go out into the unknown
Who knows what additional things are going on in someones life, to where adding on the potentially great insecurity and stress job-searching can bring on...

Well of course corporations aren’t your friend. Work places don’t aim to be anybody’s “friend”. I’ve worked at SEVERAL retail corporations and have never been fired. I’ve only quit and found better jobs. It boils down to simply having a good work ethic. I know “work ethic” is frowned upon nowadays but working is natural part of human life. You may as well excel at what you do. How do people expect to get better job placements if they put out mediocre work everywhere they go?
My work ethic is second to none I'm just not stupid and going to get exploited for peanuts it's called knowing your worth. I'm at a point where I'm literally the s*** at what i do and ain't nobody f***ing with me I go to job interviews and tell them this. I tell them to call past employers at jobs I gave a f*** about and ask about me. I don't even put those trash menial jobs on my resume.
