Even if Jin doesn't stick to the samurai code of honour as strongly as he used to, it still has been and always will be the most important thing to his uncle. Anything other than a warrior's death for Shimura would be an insult. Even if Shimura was spared, he'd never renounce his samurai ways so Jin wouldn't be able to have any kind of relationship with him going forward as he's still a traitor in the eyes of the shogun. Shimura would have to live with the knowledge that he'd failed the shogun.

Replaying this for the first time in a min. Low key deserved GOTY over TLOU2. On paper it’s “just” a properly done Assassins creed Japan, but it’s more than the sum of its parts, everything comes together perfectly.

Some of my favorite parts are when Jin is just reflecting while sitting in a hot spring or writing a haiku.

This is fun as hell.

It's soothing in a way open world action games rarely are. They have to be careful in terms of overcomplicating things for the sequel but some form of cooking mechanic/mini-game would be great.

well said I personally still think tlou2 deserves it because GoT had a few too many repetitive aspects in the open world, but they both tell their stories so well and the mo-cap performances really bring the storytelling to another level

GoT and Tlou2 was really an insane swan song for the ps4, I wouldn’t be shocked if GoT2 is so ambitious we don’t see it until the end of the ps5 gen

Playing GoT on PS4 and it has me HOOKED So many good ideas in the way exploration was designed. I set a marker, start riding my horse and then a gold bird or a fox shrine or a group of Mongols distracts me. Been in Act 2 for like 10 hours and haven't done the main story at all

Only downsides are the game went from really challenging at the beginning to too easy once I leveled up (playing on the 2nd hardest difficulty). And this is just my personal opinion but the story/characters haven't really grabbed me

The motion blur in the game was awful. Things would stay on the screen longer than they were supposed to. Turned off the motion blur on my TV and the game looks MUCH better And I feel like the timing for parries is more consistent now

Props to Sucker Punch for making this. It couldn't have been easy, imagine how much research they had to do on samurai culture AAA gaming needs games like this. It has a basic Far Cry open world, list of chores structure. But there's some creative ideas here. And they put so much color in this game, I can see why they won Best Art Direction

If iirc act 3 is where it really picks up. Acts 1 and 2 are basically just him struggling with who he is becoming

Make sure you play the iki island dlc too. Gives great background into him and the map is just beautiful

Gonna be interesting with Assassin's creed code red coming whenever and rise of the ronin this month. Love these types of games. Wouldn't mind a nextgen way of the samurai either

it was added in a post update. don't know what the mode really is but excited to try it out since we don't have to pay for PS+

hopefully someone can mod it to just allow full free roam multiplayer
