Probably going to go through this for the first time after dropping it for whatever reason when it first released.
Was reading about how difficulty worked and was wondering should I do the hardest difficulty from the start? Stealth seems to be pretty prominent in the game and I like having a game be at a level of difficulty where I’m forced to use everything I have at my disposal.
Do enemies become damage sponges or is it better balanced than that?
I know everyone praises Lethal but I didn't like how quickly I died on it. Got frustrating blocking waiting for an enemy to strike so you can parry but then another enemy comes from behind and kills you. Can't really do s*** about it either because the lock-on in this game is ass when facing groups
I played on hard. Challenging at first while you're leveling up, eventually too easy when you got more skills and abilities. So I'd say start off hard, maybe go on to lethal eventually or just stick on hard if you don't mind playing a samurai power fantasy
But lethal is definitely better balanced than just increasing enemy health. They can kill you in one or two hits, you can kill them in one or two hits. Forces you to use everything at your disposal

The learning curve is a little rough at first on Lethal but once you get the hang of it it's really nice. Plus you get a lot of defensives and health regen s*** later in the game.
Back on the island
Where do we all stand on when to go to Iki Island? One of the bigger debates amongst GOT fans.
Story wise it feels like an epilogue, I feel like that final scene hits really hard after the base game ending, I teared up fr

I would've liked to give it another shot by starting on Hard and switching to Lethal during the 2nd or 3rd island. But my first playthrough took 50+ hours, I think I have the platinum. I'll probably never play this game again tbh
i am terrible at this game man i had to legit turn the difficulty to easy for the time being

Where are you in the game? I remember my first playthrough was on Hard & I did my second on Normal. I'm doing this current run on Hard. The aggression definitely picks up. The Mongols that stood around before will try and pack you out.
Also, L1 & O are your friends. Just rock with it until you feel comfortable to get creative offensively.

I can't remember whether it was on the game or my TV but having motion blur/motion flow settings on was f***ing up my parry timing because it wasn't consistent. Try turning it off if you're struggling with parries

i’m still on thr first chapter i just been running around doing stuff but like man i keep dying like crazy
also i legit can’t get a parry at all like i am struggling
i feel stupid because ive legit never struggled like that in a game but playing on easy it’s legit like no difficulty at all but also i did just upgrade my armor even more which helped

Idk that you should feel stupid. I've beat the game twice and just the other day I pretty much took down a whole Mongol camp but a archer ended me before I could get to him lol. I just came back and took the archers out first the second time. Maybe change tactics?
Also is it the standard attacks or the unblockable(Red indicator) attacks cooking you? You might be trying to parry too much. Hold your defense and parry when ready unless it's an unbloackable move. Shift left, right or backwards.
Personally even when I restarted this s*** the big brutes were hard for me to time their full sequence of attacks. It never seemed consistent. Stick with it.

wait the red ones you can block
that’s literally the one that keeps getting me

Lol NOOOO, those are unbloackable. Just hit O in either left, right, or backwards to avoid them and you're good. I know it's a timing thing but you gotta get it down.
Maintain defense(L1) and if you see red, hit O+Direction(Left, Right or Backwards).
Just beat the main game and liberated all of Tsushima (Iki Island still in trouble for now). My thoughts on Ghost of Tsushima:
Positives:
Visually one of the most impressive and beautiful games I've played.
Performance was a perfect 60 FPS throughout (PS5).
Quite a few gripping and intriguing story moments with the characters you get to know. The ending especially had me a lil' choked up.
Seeing the evolution of Jin Sakai - going from strictly following the samurai code of life to becoming "the Ghost" was a very cool development in the story, especially seeing how it affects his relationships and people's view of him.
Combat - I initially thought the combat was a bit basic, but that was because I was the one being basic. In the beginning of the game I had not yet paid attention to the significance of using different stances against different enemies. Once I got the hang of using the correct stance against a certain type of enemy, it made a huge difference and I was soon cleaning out camps and looking good while I did it. Also a shoutout to the duels in this game. The times when you had to duel an opponent/enemy were definitely highlights.
New game plus - game doesn't end after the credits but actually lets you continue to play in the world after the credits have rolled. You don't just "spawn outside the last boss" after beating the game which is a thing I've always disliked in video games. This game actually lets you play in the world 'after' the final boss, with people recognising that you beat him, and even lets you replay some of the missions/duels.
Negatives:
That being said - sank you, Lord Sakai. Now it's time for Black Myth: Wukong.

Awesome stuff... Hopefully so will GOT 2 be better and make you like the game even more than the first one. But yeah GOT deserves the love it gets and hopefully so will the sequel be even better and sell more

Has a sequel been officially announced?
Yeah been in the works for a min.
Also this game is meant to be played on Lethal outside of the duels it forces you to use all tools at your disposal and even then you’ll still be OP. It’s a struggle in the early game before you at least get the kunai and other upgrades but I can’t stand bulletsponge type enemies on other difficulties

Ah, so the Ghost shall return. Nice.
I was playing on Medium difficulty which I think was the default one. I think I could've done it on Hard but as a first time player I didn't know what to expect and I didn't want to turn it into a Souls-like right away Perhaps if I pick it up again or replay it I'll do it on Hard.

There's been no formal announcement but Sucker Punch job postings and "reputable" leakers have confirmed it's in production.
Has a sequel been officially announced?
Not officially but you can say it has been leaked via job listings on LinkedIn etc. So all we need now is an announcement of it which could happen in 2025
Idk how this 3rd playthrough hitting just as hard harder than the first two, but it is.
May be the Rise Of The Ronin & Shogun influence

It'll be very interesting to see what the story could be about this time around.

True... It'll hopefully be good as they've had a long time to work on it and the gameplay should also be better since GOT 2 should be only on the PS5/PS5 Pro and not on the PS4/PS4 Pro as well so they can do more with it and should be better overall. So yeah I am sure that it'll be an amazing sequel tbh
