This game
Agreed. I went back because I thought ds2 might look better. And it has some moments like the spinning fan level, but this as a whole looks better imo
Ran the wrong way

Such a good game overall. The gameplay was improved in almost every way and it feels so good to play especially when you get used to the new parry timing. I loved the introduction of bounties and wish there were more of them.
My biggest complaint is that the story was just not nearly as compelling as GoT. Jin’s transformation from samurai to the Ghost was so interesting and impactful compared to Atsu’s revenge story. I also was not a fan of the direction that they took the narrative in the 3rd act.
I also HATE that she burns her sash. I get that it’s significant to her evolution but it’s truly a tragedy that we never get to see our endgame loadouts with the completed sash. It should have been handled another way imo
Also Lord Saito was a lot harder on Lethal than Takezo was imo. I was so happy to put Saito’s annoying ass face on a t-shirt when I finally beat him.
I had to put off the game for a bit didnt want to finish it just yet. But now. I think its time. I know im very close to the end now.
That was fantastic. Story was mostly generic but everything was f***ing chef's kiss. Loved this game
Just rolled credits. Great game. I think it’s better than the first OVERALL. The gameplay is more fun than the first. Exploring feels rewarding for the most part. Atsu is more interesting than Jin (still like him tho). The overall story is probably better in the first tho I will say. Big fan of both games.
Also, I didn’t use stealth at all for some reason
I just brute forced my way through areas because the gameplay was that much more fun to me
Done, everything unlocked, 60 hours in. Story was good, combat better and the vibes/photo mode god tier. Now I rest until NG+ and Legends.

Combat so good I desperately need the legends mode
I wonder how they’ll do this one, different classes all with access to the same weapons like Tsushima? Or different classes with their own weapon? What’s throwing me off is that in Tsushima even if your stance wasn’t optimal you could still take down enemies with different weapons but I feel like Yotei really punishes you for using the wrong weapon
Scavenger kid pissing me off. Stop pulling up on me if you don’t have anything good lil bro.
Finished the game on lethal. Overall a ton of fun and looking forward to legends mode. Duels are cinematically and thematically great, but from a gameplay mechanics perspective the big ones are dog s*** (on lethal). Could’ve seen this coming from the Iki island DLC where enemies and duels had terribly unfun movesets but it’s worse here. The parry timing seems f***ed half the time and inconsistent
Alright I'm a few hours into the game. I'm seeing people praise it, but I'm having some issues.
The story so far is not on the level of Tsushima. The characters you meet are just teachers or people that sell you things. By this point in Tsushima I'm already following Masakai on her revenge plot, getting to know her and the lore of the game.
Also I'm not feeling the combat. I'm playing on lethal and there's something wrong with the parries. I've historically been very good at these types of games but I think the timing is off. Going to continue playing.

The aurora lights sequence was dope

19 hours in. I'm sorry this game isn't even slightly as good as Tsushima. I'm trying with it, but everything except for graphics is worse.

Lethal is 10x more annoying here than in Tsushima and not in any redeemable good way. I think in making the combat more fluid/difficult (enemies don’t take turns attacking you like Tsushima, among other changes) they ruined the balance of lethal mode, it does get more manageable once you have every tool and weapon (but you don’t even know where or when you get the tools) but I never feel like I could aura farm like I could in Tsushima at the end. Also once you have everything it sometimes becomes cumbersome to switch between them all fluidly and in fact sometimes I felt like my controls weren’t registering.
Having beaten the game on lethal on retrospect I would play with custom difficulty and probably increased the parry window and decreased enemy damage.
I also agree with you regarding side characters, they could have and should have done more to expand on them, Tsushima’s were much more interesting with depth to them. SP also oversold the freedom of choice involved in the story. I did like the story a lot but it’s hard to argue Tsushima’s wasn’t more original and creative. They had some very cool ideas here but they went for bigger/wider scope here when I think they could have instead gone for more depth in a couple of areas/characters instead.
30 hours in still only killed the snake and the oni
I feel like there’s still tons to do
Hmm....not good, not good tbh honest everyone saying the story sucks. I mean I haven't played (only been watching some) but GOT was pretty unique in it's story with the whole sacrificing honor thing and fighting back against an invasion, while this one is just, revenge again for the umpteenth time in a game. Idk tbh. Perhaps Sucker punch should let this series rest next go round and try something else and maybe come back to this in the future when they have a fresh take

Same.

Story is definitely generic but I like atsu more as a character so it’s coo

"I haven't played this video game critically praised for its gameplay and design and being gassed up by everyone itt actually playing it. But I heard the story is a bit generic so maybe they should put this series to rest. Not good."

I don’t think the story sucked but the ending felt rushed and unsatisfying. Atsu and the other characters were all great it’s just the plot kinda fell apart at the end of act 3. The game has so many amazing standalone quests though, and the way they tied it back to Tsushima was impactful imo.
The biggest change this game needs is a more varied combat system and allows for different builds instead of (basically) requiring all weapons to be used.
