Have a strong feeling the story was originally about trevor and micheal, and someone figured it was a good idea to throw in a cj-lite and hit on the grove street nostalgia, after the main plot was drafted.

I felt gta4's gameplay and world were hindered by its super serious story tho. They lost their funny bone until the gay tony dlc. 5 wasnt all that funny, but i was glad they went in the general direction they did. It needs to be a little bit on the stupid side so they can get away with more gags and creative missions imo.

Your last point true af but they didn't balance it well, the writing suffered a lot. I think San Andreas did it just perfectly. It was the most perfectly balanced GTA experience

San Andreas was the best as far as story line goes imo

GTA IV had an interesting story line, but the controls were kind of clunky, and there was a serious lack of character customization

I prefer GTV V over it because there’s more interesting s*** to do, but I do like the environment of GTV IV more

    Agree 100%
They havent gotten close to that balance since.

Gotta say tho, i got no complaints about the last 2 gta online updates... If they cant strike that balance again, then gameplay>humor>story logic is my preferred recipe, which is what theyre doing atm.

GTA 4 had a more realistic appeal...the physics tried to be more realistic but they brought back some of the realistic appeal in GTA 5. I believe they are both great games but there are downsides to each....

    San Andreas the greatest GTA

    But Vice City fantastic too

Gta V is better it terms of exciting off the wall satirical mayhem

Gta iv is a better story driven narrative

    Love them both

Gta sa is almost unplayable though

Would greatly benefit with a remaster

Franklin has nothing interesting going on. He’s the most boring one out of the 3. All of his most memorable moments is him with Lamar

also the weapon wheel is so bloated and annoying to use. who the f*** uses the 100 different knives available or the 500 different pistols anyway? all the guns kill quickly with the aim assist and weak ass enemys. i always use the same handful of guns cause i dont feel like scrolling for 5 seconds to find the one i want.

Then why you get them all

    OKR

V was atleast fun, IV was just the same mission again and again

    No

I loved how gritty and grounded IV felt. Overall it was more immersive imo.
But IV lacked replay value and felt too confined, Liberty City felt bland and uneventful.

But I do hope that GTA 6 returns to a gritty, more realistic feel. V felt a lil too cartoonish at times imo

I also loved the missions in IV where you had to choose which ally to kill, the stakes felt high. And there were advantages and disadvantages to whoever you decided to kill

Franklin has nothing unique about him lol

He’s just another guy climbing up the crime ladder which we’ve seen in so many times. It doesn’t help that is main personality trait is he’s black. Michael is the gta character who made it, was successful and got to live to tell the tale. The problem is that he’s miserable & unhappy with all this money. His kids are s***s, his wife f***s other men, and he feels guilty because of what happened to Trevor & Brad.

Michael has the most depth and the most interesting background to a gta character. Yea he’s a white dude but he has personality & uniqueness unlike Franklin
