Noooo! What didn’t you care for?
It was coo but just felt myself losing interest after a while. Prolly need a second watch

That’s fair. I did feel the length of the runtime. Loved Bradley Cooper’s performance and Del Toro’s world building in this tho. Not sure if I’d rewatch it any time soon but I can only imagine it getting better on rewatches

it takes a while to get to where it needs to go but when it does it starts moving imo
I’m lowkey worried going into it on Wednesday I f*** with Del Toro but a lot of the elements I’ve read from reviews are exact things I’d have issues with.
Hoping to be proved wrong
Kinda upset this flopped. Only made 3 mil this weekend and the budget was 60 mil. Idk what the studio was thinking releasing this Spider-Man weekend though. Should’ve waited until January when there’s significantly less competition
i don't know how to feel about the ending
same, but it's more or less the same as the book too

Disney owned the studio so idk what they were thinking either, especially knowing it's going up against the biggest MCU film of the year smh

They really thought people would go watch this after watching Spider Man smh. Granted that’s what I did BUT it ain’t even the same type of demographic to think little kids dressed as spider man is gonna walk they way into Nightmare alley right after.
It does not help this movie that the first hour is basically a prologue to the actual story being told
I love Del Toro but does anyone else feel like he's been on auto pilot for a while now?

Imma keep it real I dont think they had any faith in this movie so they sent it out to die.
My theater had like 20 showings of Spider-Man and 3 showings of this.
Plus it’s rated R I doubt they were looking for the kiddy Spider-Man crowd.
This is like when network shows put a show on the 3 AM death slot instead of just canceling it

i’m still hyped for his pinocchio movie
I think i'm even more excited for pinnochio after this, del toro never misses with aesthetics

How does this compare to other Del Toro flicks? Shape of water, Pan's Labyrinth ?

Ngl I’ve never seen Pan’s Labyrinth even tho I’ve always heard great things but personally, it blew shape of water out of the water (no pun intended) for me

Not even tryna be dramatic or nothing but youre doing yourself a huge disservice. Get on that jawn, Pan's labyrinth a modern classic
