It’s a good album with a great album tucked inside it. I agree with some of the criticisms such as bloating, sequencing, and repetitiveness at times. On the flip side I think the beats, flows, and strong R&B songs really give it a lot of redeeming qualities. I also am a little bit more forgiving if he’s true to his word and is taking an extended hiatus. All in all probably in the bottom half of my discography rankings, but still enjoyable
I didn’t f*** with the album tbh, drake has nice flows as always but I hate the cheap trap drums and how his voiced is mixed and filtered on most of the tracks
no songs stand out as unique for this project imo, you could switch songs with CLB and Her Loss they wouldn’t feel out of place
The themes and subject matter are lame as f*** too, weakest drake rapping in an album imo
It’s a shame because the boy is very talented but he clearly needs a break and when he comes back he should try to craft something special production wise like TC, NWTS, Views, etc
Weakest drake album imo
Cannot even fathom the question of still playing it. I run it front to back three times a day, it literally just came out OF COURSE IM STILL PLAYING IT.
Only kept 4 songs on it
-First Person Shooter
-IDGAF
-Slime You Out
-8AM in Charlotte
Would have added Another Late Night if Yacthy didn't ruin it
Sleeping on Away From Home is nasty behavior
It hit for me immediately, but giving up on an album after one pass thru is like walking thru an art gallery just glancing left and right. How can you see and feel the artist’s vision that way?
I'm still playing it all the time
I like it a lot more than I did the first two days.
Like 11 songs that I keep going back to. The highs more than make up for the lows imo but that’s how I feel about all his albums.
And I know there’s probably songs I don’t fw now that I’ll be obsessed with in a few months lol
i only return to 7969 santa and maybe members only to be honest
overall its still his best to me since scorpion
Drake needs to stop making albums with 20+ songs. There’ll always be filler, which will never benefit him. Keep things short and cohesive.
Her Loss >>>>>>
I would prefer a cohesive album myself but as you won't find a consensus on which songs are filler he is right to put out these long albums
Pretty solid. Not his best, but not nearly as bad as some would have you think it is. I'm glad he's taking a break though.
