I don't even know how I'm supposed to contend with statements like "No way Rihanna (who hasn't toured or put out an album in almost a decade) is less globally famous than Drake. Yes Rihanna does other things and is famous for other stuff but that's still the thing she is known for primarily.

Looking at Google trends they seem to even out between 2013-2015 (before Rihanna was obviously crushing) and Drake looks slightly higher than her now 2022-2024. It's close either way. In advance not saying this is sole, end all, be all stat.
It's hard to quantify Global Fame / Name Recognition / Interest / Dollars spent.
