I recently started a company, and hired some dude. He seemed like a perfect fit, until about 2 weeks into the job, he confessed to our manager that he lied about his experience. He's been doing a great job nonetheless.

Would y'all fire him or keep him even tho he lied? Have y'all lied during an interview?

we're building something in tech and he couldn't get stuff in before deadlines because he was teaching himself how to build it

If he’s been doing a great job regardless then why wouldn’t you keep him

He’s obviously been putting in work, learning quickly on the job, critically thinking. That’s exactly who you want working.

why would i tell the truth

your employee is just an idiot for getting a job he wasn’t qualified for but ofc i lie lol

  • Dec 23, 2021

Yeah man they were asking some nonsensical questions about my personality you know the type like so I had to make up some hypothetical situations where my traits excelled so you know that's what I did and you know what I got the job so my advice is always lie these companies will toss you aside like stale bread I never lied about my experience though.

i encourage all forms of deceit in a interview

    lie on your resume too

( but if its a job that requires a lot skill, education, and or experience that u dont have i would rethink it )

Considering he's not making deadlines 2 weeks into the job, he's not doing a great job

Also OP is an owner of the company from a risk standpoint it's way to high

the way you said it primarly feels like you just don't care about the fact that the man is trying and showing interest, that's the best a worker can do and I appreciate that, of course if economic loss is happening because of him that's another subject

my sister would create fake work histories, degrees, references all depending on the job she was applying. Pretty much lied about her entire existence and she would always get good jobs she was unqualified for

    F*** yeah I lie
You think I give a f*** about being honest to these corporations

If i'm not qualified for the job but i think i can handle it, i will try -
    homie stupid for confessing

-- also this situation reminds me of someone i knew
basically, bro lied, got a coding job
they realized he didn't know how to code
but they already hired him, had a great hiring retention rate, so they kept him on board and just taught him

    life is funny

If he’s doing a great job just let him learn on the job lol
