F*** yeah I lie
You think I give a f*** about being honest to these corporations
If i'm not qualified for the job but i think i can handle it, i will try -
homie stupid for confessing
-- also this situation reminds me of someone i knew
basically, bro lied, got a coding job
they realized he didn't know how to code
but they already hired him, had a great hiring retention rate, so they kept him on board and just taught him
life is funny
in my company there's literally people who didn't turned on a computer in their life, and now they're doing Team Leader/Quality/Specialists roles, I also got hired as a noob and now the same title in other country would require me University degree (I don't even have a Bachelor's, lol)
the way you said it primarly feels like you just don't care about the fact that the man is trying and showing interest, that's the best a worker can do and I appreciate that, of course if economic loss is happening because of him that's another subject
If it was a big company with sh*tton of money then it's whatever but it's a recently new tech startup and there shouldn't be newbies taking on difficult projects
Again if he's not making deadlines 2 weeks into the job how can you be sure they won't make deadlines on more bigger projects in the future

yeah I get your point
idk I am too conscious and empathic I can't be doing boss job and live with the idea that I laid off a person who is giving their best to remain with us (especially during Holoday season)

Yeah bro, none of that other s*** matters, especially in tech. If they're using certain tools and you're fluent in those tools....you're fit for that job. F*** a degree.
OP - Who interviewed him? How did the dude pass the interview? Did you not have a technical round?
my sister would create fake work histories, degrees, references all depending on the job she was applying. Pretty much lied about her entire existence and she would always get good jobs she was unqualified for
i've seen a person do this and get away with it. it's pretty risky though.
most companies these days contract an external background check company like goodhire or hireright, and you can't f*** around with them lol.
I don’t lie about my experience cause it’ll eventually come back around and make me look silly, I lie about everything else though
@op what name did you chose after all for that dating app?
still haven't picked it lol
just have a placeholder as of right now
we're building something in tech and he couldn't get stuff in before deadlines because he was teaching himself how to build it
Y’all done hired Mike Ross
I’ve been lied to while conducting an interview (work in fintech), but the person lying seemed to think they were right (so, they were just unfortunately wrong and didn’t have enough product knowledge at the time).
But the way he went about it, like he wasn’t sure & grabbing at straws/bullshitting. I told him it’s a very technical role & that he needed to know his s***, but that LITTLE thing he didn’t know, he could’ve just said “I don’t know, but I’d find out” and I’d be chill with it.
We still hired him but literally STOMPED what I said above in his mind. Saying “I don’t know, but -” is one of the most underrated & strongest things you can say to get you out of anything.
bc he actually accomplished what we needed, even tho it was a bit late
code probably looks like s*** but you have no idea
I lie during interviews
I lie in my motivational letters
I lie on my resume
It's my moral duty to do so
Most people seem to lie or stretch out the truth in job interviews in order to sell themselves I think telling the truth will make you stand out. Honesty is underrated.
If he gets it done right while learning, keep him. He's not unreliable at this point, he's just valued himself enough to do what needed to be done to get there
