What exactly would they have stopped? it's not as if the earth was perfect before western industry or capitalism
Colonization and transatlantic slavery for a starter
I personally do not mind if less of the anglosphere will be born. The US and UK are a cancer to Earth and humanity. We could have stopped everything if Western capitalists didn't control the world
I think humans in general were doomed from the start

Colonizing and slavery are concepts that predate western capitalism though
Colonizing has also raised the standard of living in a good amount of the places that it's happened in and we're experiencing what is currently the highest standard of living globally in history.
Okay but no one will actually give a f***. Just like pre-marital s***and p*** addiction is immoral and people will never stop doing that .
it's only immoral to have children if you're poor

Colonialism has reached its peak under capitalism. The tendency of the rate of profit to fall and the eternal need for growth forces capitalists to imperialize and open "new markets", from which they can exploit new resources and labor. Western capitalism would not even work anymore if sweatshops in Asia and mines in Africa didn't exist.
Modern slavery also only makes sense if commodity exchanges have reached a certain maturity. Ancient slavery was not based on a monoculture like cotton, because it did not make sense to produce merely for exchange in ancient economic systems. Rather, they produced for direct consumption, as markets had not matured yet. Neither had the division of labor. Shipping millions of Africans to foreign lands to produce a single type of good, cotton, only makes sense under capitalism.
Also, kindly stfu implying colonies helped regular people. Keep your imperialist talking points to yourself. Africa and Asia used to be full of wealth before Europeans entered. So did the Americas before Europeans genocided all the indigenous people.
There is a reason the countries that were colonized are still not as developed as the colonizers.

do you disagree?
do you see some virtue in bringing life into the world that you know you can't support and give a fair chance?

I'm not saying capitalism is perfect but to imply things that predated it would be solved if it didn't exist isn't a valid arguement.
Also a lot of the modern luxuries and standard of living are a result of colonizing places. While colonizing land isn't necessarily good, we can't deny we are reaping the benefits of it right now.
I don’t see that happening tbh.
I can see myself having one kid and just adopting the other.

Yes, for you Americans, you benefit from your ongoing imperialism in the third world. For the rest of us, we don't. That's why I welcome the slow decline of the USA, whether it be in birthrates, economics, politics or culture. The less of a strangehold the American empire has on the rest of the world, the better off the majority of mankind will be.
@Electric if we're banning for misinformation can we ban this guy for pushing eugenics
Go outside. Cry less.
are you dumb? how is saying it's immoral to bring a child into this world when you know you don't have the means to support one pushing eugenics?
you think that's a good thing?
The answer to that question is yes.
Also your point is pretty obvious to anyone with a brain. It’s actually a huge deterrent for most people thinking about having a kid. If you are broke why bring someone into that situation. It’s a big a reason millennials (notoriously broke) aren’t having kids as much as previous generations.
It being “immoral” is a bit much I’d say but goodness the same losers on this website that cry about everything & want anyone banned who says the slightest thing truly ruined this site.

why wouldn't i be able to support it and give it a far chance?
people preach about equality and then have the audacity to say you're no good to society unless you're born into stability
i meant a historical empire
Even if you go by antiquated definitions, the USA owns islands thousands of kilometers away from its mainland.
