It's not just America though, the global standard of living has increased dramatically.

You know instead of thinking that having children is the problem perhaps that thinking would be better served on fixing the things that have caused problems in society such as issues in our climate and pollution, capitalism, homelessness, globalization, and racism just to name a handful. These are all things that we can work to correct as a society instead of finding some way to blame humans doing what is most natural and procreating.
