It’s like pointing out Uzi/Juice Wrld/Pop/etc outsold Drake first week with Dark Lane Demo Tapes.
It was clearly marketed as a side project and not meant to have similar popularity to a studio album. Hence CLB doing much more and having an actual push comparable to a studio album.
I’ve never seen a single Drake fan try to compare the sales of Views and untitled unmastered even though they released less than two months apart. Everybody knows it’d be stupid to compare an album to a side project

The initial response was to the statements that no artist is big enough to outsell Drake. Where does that statement come from? Why are we only looking at first week sales instead of total sales? It’s because it’s the only number that makes Drake look good.

That has to do with… you know… his label…. trying to juice the project.
Drake bothered to film NO music videos for any of these 3 singles so that alone shows you how he felt about it (side project that does not get same dedication as main project)

I’m a Drake fan. It’s just wild to me how Drake stans arbitrarily choose situations and numbers when it looks good for Drake but then totally ignore those same rules in a situation where it doesn’t look good for Drake.
And speaking of biggest artists, who decided that first week sales is what decides that? Drake doesn’t even have a best selling album (total sales) in the top 40 of the 2010s.
