"and it still surpassed expectations."
Your expectations to make excuses? Sure. WATTBA didnt have much to work against. Collab albums dont sell as much as people think because people dont understand the variables that impact collab albums.
This is irrelevant. I could say the same about baby and durk and you will still come with your silly "oh well it's not 200k" argument.
I dont have a standard for drake at all. He's a big artist. I didnt expect wattba do more nor do I care. Anyone with a brain knew he was the hottest rapper in rap for the past 5 years while Future was the hottest artist in 2015. The sales changed nothing. You missed the point yet again.
You don't have standard for Drake but WATTBA is a dropoff according to you and the fact that it didn't have a full tracking week and was his second release in 7 months is an excuse to you.
You really are stupid lmao.
Drake yes, kendrick idk
People been waiting, I got his album going 4x platinum.
I'll say, these are GREAT numbers for Durk. His biggest first week yet if I'm not mistaken.
They're not bad numbers but they're also underwhelming.
" but they're also underwhelming." - it gotta do more than Savage mode 2 atleast (and I liked that one more than this project.

Depends on what type of album if it's another commerical type album like damn he has a chance to do crazy numbers. But if he's goes left like TPAB it'll take some time
Listening to Joe Budden Pod they talking about 200k is true absolute FLOOR prediction for this tape. Turns out it will be the absolute ceiling 🤣

That'll only happen if the tracks on it are compelling enough for people to keep streaming months after it's release. To Pimp a Butterfly still hasn't moved 2M units in the US 6 years later.
shout out to 21 for casually pulling these types of numbers on an off year with no hits.

I think the numbers are underwhelming because them two have been the hottest rappers of the last year in terms of releases and content. They've both built up a lot of clout since their last solo projects and this project was announced about a month before it dropped so there was time to build hype. Throw in the fact that this has 18 tracks and pulling less than 200K SPS and less than 200M streams is definitely underwhelming imo.
I can understand if people feel differently though.

No, I'm just using your own argument to point out how dumb your argument is. Literally every collab is a dropoff yet you ran here to say "OMG NOT 200K YET YALL THINK THEY THE HOTTEST OUT". You dont even know what hottest in rap means lmao shut up
according to thegreatdivine, biggie wasnt the hottest out after ready to die came out since snoop ll cool j and ice cube had better fw numbers

I'm not the only one who thinks these numbers are underwhelming, buddy.
People were expecting them to do more. Doesn't matter what you and I think. Those were/are the expectations after all the talk following both of their names these last few months.

true.. still racked up 200 million streams first week, which is pretty crazy and is what really shot the numbers up. I think on 22,000 actual sales were aided by bundles

He wasn’t
Snoop was when ready to die dropped
Snoop was the biggest in 94
You srs? Doggystyle did 800k first week in late 93 going great into 94 and ready to die did 50k
Drake stans already geared up to make the sales vs quality argument for CLB
I can see it now.
They're not bad numbers but they're also underwhelming.
Aren’t collab hip hop albums sales always underwhelming I’m confused lol. Since people mentioned WTT(2011) it did 436k first week. Prior to that Jay Z released BP3 in 09 which did 476k and Kanye had MBDTF which did 496k. Durk last effort just did 87k and Baby did 197k. Their numbers seem perfectly fine !
