Have you been to an OMFS yet?
I can give you some recommendations for conservative therapy to start if you haven’t
Nah insurance sucks. Yeah that would be cool
What are you studying?
its a psychology field but it is specifically set up as healthcare

Give this a month. If this fails, talk to your PCP about getting an MRI and/or prescribing a muscle relaxer you can take before bed. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

Thanks bro will run this. How bad is it taking ibuprofen so often even within the rec’d dosage. I take it a lot due to this and I’m always paranoid if my kidney is gonna collapse in 20 years

One week of ibuprofen 600mg 2 x a day won’t kill ya trust me. Max dose is 3200mg in 24 hours

I guess I mean I usually get flare ups for like a week at a time every 3-4 months. And that’s when I take it. I wonder if that compounds long term or if the breaks in between make up for it. Really neurotic question I know

It won’t man. That’s still only 4 weeks a year if it happens every 3 months. People with chronic osteoarthritis take that s*** daily all year

Thanks that’s reassuring. Appreciate ur insight on it , absolute b**** of a thing to deal with

I’m sure homie but it’s highly treatable and manageable if you’re compliant with therapy. Let me know how it goes for you
Contractor means they won’t get health insurance / retirement benefits / pto, etc but yeah making that much with that nice of schedule is likely worth it lol
The key is to work 2 days a week one place and then work part time for 2 days at another place which hooks you up with the benefits. You’ll easily clear a million working 4 days a week with benefits

Will do bro thank you
I just read that medical bills are reported to be the number-one cause of U.S. bankruptcies.
So important to treat your mind and body right.
How are you going be in healthcare and just now find this information out. How long have you been in healthcare?

lol it’s not my job to figure out the financial situation of my patients. As a surgical resident, my focus is solely on learning how to treat them and I have plenty on my plate already
Damn no love for Paramedics :(
paramedics are obviously welcome :)
Thank you for your service.

yeah, its bad, and gets way worse when you find out a lot of people are blocked from certain services based on their insurance. Even in some fields where you can just get medicaid funding based off diagnosis you can actually get less qualified workers to service your needs and medicaid/companies can actually pick and choose what youre allowed to get funding for (no you cant work on xyz for benefit, we only want you reducing something that can be deadly, etc)
Ive had too many clients who had fake diagnosis' for my services. Like, a doctor told them "im going to give this diagnosis, you dont actually have it, but if I give it to you, you will get the ability to access help because your insurance company wont pay for it." I also had a time where I worked for tricare holders (military insurance) and since it requires full certification (which isnt required here, and is rare outside certain companies) they actually waited over a year to get care until someone held the cert (me) was working at the company tricare decided they had to use, and this is supposed to be the best insurance in the country
so many people in this country are against getting rid of this system only because they arent aware of the horror it really incites. its a f***ing mess.
I'm biased because I'm an oral & maxillofacial surgery resident but the job prospects are insane. This is a posting looking for an oral surgeon.
600k a year working from 7AM - 1PM two days a week in Miami. F***ing insane
i shouldn’t have dropped out of pre-med damn it
oral surgery nvm wasn’t for me
I think if you’re working 12 hours a week for 600k, anything can be for you haha
Why is tmj such a b**** to figure out
Because it can be rooted in a lot of other things i.e. visual dysfunction
I work in home health! It’s still endlessly insane to me that the best health care of your life will be before you die 💀😭
wdym by that
i shouldn’t have dropped out of pre-med damn it
I have a cousin that failed out of med school his MS2 year. Took the DAT and got into dental school the following year(now in 4th year) and told me recently if he could rewind time, he would've chosen pre-dental route instead of premed.
