kanyes lyrics on yeezus are audible f***ing trash LMAO. Just because you can't listen or understand what mc ride is saying, it doesnt make it a negative thing, lyrically wise

With lyrics how you feel them is the most important quality for the listener sure, nowadays that's mainly what we see across all genres from popular to obscure like DG.

I think the lyrics on Yeezus are super funny and mean in a good way. They're more than just a melody you vibe to

Funny, last night I listened to Yeezus the whole way through after just wanting to play one song.

MBDTF was amazing. It was a slap in the face of his critics/of the media that hated him at that time. His personal character was villified and he dropped a musical statement that couldn't be denied.

That said, I think Yeezus is the most Kanye West album ever, and I think that's where it failed.

Kanye is a bit too much, he is, and that's part of his charm. And I think people really embraced that on MBDTF because it was his raw, all over the place self but it had a lot of finesse and style to it. It had a lot of mainstream/hip hop appeal, and it was very easily accessible, from the beats down to the feature selection. It was like he knew what people wanted to hear and went in the studio and made it. Which is mad when you think about it, it's unbelievable.

But Yeezus, in opposition to that was Kanye West, without the finesse, without the mainstream appeal, without the accessibility. It was a risky album to release. The beats were unfamiliar, it had aggressive instrumentation, topically he was more aggressive than ever, on top of that he was yelling all over the place. The beat switches were abrupt and sometimes seemed like they made no sense. It was like an album made in the jungle. And it was dope, somehow he pulled it off. I don't think Yeezus is better than MBDTF, but it is undoubtedly the more Kanye West album.

I think New Slaves sums up Yeezus pretty well, the content, that wild beat and then with all that madness. Then that ending, to contrast all that we'd just been put through.
