I don’t know how you couldn’t.
That song hard
idg why people on here try to act like replay value isn't a major factor in how they rate an album. Nobody is calling something that they only listened to once AOTY lol
I get that it isn’t like a 1:1 ratio on “I liked this more cuz I listened to it the most” but if I listened to f***in Lil Black Jean Jacket 3 15 more times than I listened to the Kendrick album, im saying I liked/LBJJ3 is better when it comes to my favorite projects of the year

yeah but a tweet like that would not get past 5k retweets a couple years ago. we in new territory
It’s understandable why some people wouldn’t wanna listen to Mr. Morale casually, it’s a heavy album that cuts deep at times.
However, insinuating that the album is not great or lacks quality because it’s not something to throw on casually or isn’t made as assessable is silly.
I agree I've seen it a lot on here but the tweet in OP doesn't strike me as doing that tbh

You’re not wrong, but Kendrick’s entire discography deals with heavy themes and there are other albums this year that have heavy themes which I’ve played more than Mr. Morale this year, which is why I kind of understand the replay value argument.
I don’t think they’re criticizing it for not being simple music to throw on in the background, but moreso that the songs we got lacked a returnability factor, regardless of the song’s content.
Idk if that makes sense or not
Having a hard time believing that people are still bumping MMTBS.
Kendrick selling out arenas and you actually questioning that

No it’s not because all it means is you’re not listening to the album so why should anyone take your opinion on it seriously?
If you don’t listen to an album more than once that’s your fault.

So if someone listens to an album once/twice and doesn’t like it they have to continue to listen to it throughout the year for their negative opinion to be valid?
