Travis is one of the least conscious rappers OAT and is arguably more popular than Drake atm.

Yeah to these kids lol i’m not talking about them. Nobody is bumping that 4x4 s*** like that.

These niggas do not like rap music

been peeped. s*** sad, but oh well dawg. can only put niggas on for so long lmao

  • Mfs really will try to explain only wanting party music and say they don't want "dust" when rappers talk about anything other than shaking their ass. And then people wonder why rap is so s*** smh

Dust will forever be better than the trash y'all like now. Whether it's mainstream or underground--shit is basura.

    2024 we got the beef
    Cudi dropped 2 classics
Eminem dropped his best s*** in over a decade
    Kendrick classic
    Tyler classic
    Kanye dropped an album
    Schoolboy dropped a hard album
    Rapsody
    J Cole
    Future
    Glorilla
And that’s off the top of the dome piece

People want a fantasy, right? They don’t wanna hear the problems right? They do want solutions tho right?

And don’t street rappers and politicians similarly sell a dream - the latter being that of solutions? 2 + __ = 4 and that blank space is “I want” and “it’s a” spawned lines that outright say these big solutions and government demands that people want, on behalf of the people, just in rapper barring tf out way

Basically, make conscious hiphop with similar lyrical framing devices and musical tone as current street rap and lifestyle rap that people live vicariously through, presented by rappers with a look and backdrop that people can live vicariously through

Yall rly worried about the media circus and zeitgeist more than the art form itself

Spending too much time worrying about if something is a classic rather than enjoying it enough to consider it such

  • Its actually in the best place it has been in in years. You just dont like whats going on rn

Please, for the love of God, dig through the digital crates and realize that the days of radio and the press pushing good music to you is over.

Music is more segmented more than ever before. NLU was a rare break from that as was some other things.

There's plenty of good music dropping. Ya'll just want iconic moments to be attached to it.

People want to live vicariously through music

Then there’s people like us who like to actually LISTEN to music.

I believe those are the two types of music listeners

A song with classic songmaking - which is rare nowadays in rap - is a rare break. What a coincidence

To answer yes people just want rhetoric. They don’t like actual solutions solutions are not comfortable.

like i said some other time its kinda crazy how its only with women in hip hop that people pick one artist for their flavor of the month curator core performance only to run through them in a short period of time to move on to the next. doechii bout to join rapsody, noname, glorilla, megan, ice spice, princess nokia, and little simz in a sec

Megan and Glo are not those girls but ultimately youre right
