Juice was really supposed to be the biggest rapper rn I believe it he was so talented and just his leaks are better than a lot of careers rn I hope he's smiling at heaven
Juice freestyles better than any of his songs
There’s is so much underground music out there now with completely fresh new sounds but people just don’t want to look for it
Losing X and Juice lowkey more impactful than PAC and Big dying.
At least they still had Jay and then Em and DMX popped up. And Outkast and Lauryn Hill was still pushing things forward.
X and Juice dying (and Peep to lesser extent) literally killed a whole new sound from developing
Edit: in terms of pushing the culture forward. PAC and Big died and gangsta/bling bling rap still kept flourishing for another 5-7 years.
X and Juice died and Uzi falling off literally killed the emo/rage/SoundCloud era
Someone please ban OP after spouting this nonsense
I wish people saying “Carti the only one keeping things alive” knew how stupid they sounded
He’s not? Is it not drill music that these niggas making.
My bad. You got it

Maybe you just need to listen to more forms of hip-hop before creating this opinion. Rod Wave, Polo G, YB and Yak are very popular artists from the wave who are just as big as the artists you named they just aren’t going to get the same mainstream attention and you know why. There’s a certain sound and look that doesn’t get pushed in your face daily since 2015 but it doesn’t mean it is not as big as those artists. I bet Rod Wave and Polo G got the same numbers as Juice or X. Let the dead rest In peace and move on and appreciate what is here now
Really don’t get the hype behind rod wave at all tbh
Yb and Yak obviously hard
And polo g is just okay
facts, mainly x and juice and pop though. uzi and his entire gen (xxl freestyle) are a whole diff discussion about if they lived up to expectations or not.
X was going to be a superstar
He was a superstar before he died, he was dominating the charts.
now that we know op is white someone gotta search through his post history for the n-word

Perhaps you can share some of this music instead of just posting about it
Bro PAC’s death impacted in the form of literally every black male artist from 1998-2003/4 being required to be hyper masculine and sexual in some overt way in order to be huge - and not just rap, I do mean every black male artist
And even further, rappers like DMX/Ja/Em/50 are examples of PAC’s direct influence

This sounds like a bad thing
Uzi
X
Juice
These 3 were gonna be the leaders musically, aesthetically, and culturally for they’re generation just like Drake Kendrick and Cole.
X and Juice dying really f***ed up the game.
And I feel like they’re lack of energy negatively affected Uzi’s artistry cuz he hasn’t touched LIR2 since.
Lil Peep dying plays a part too, say what you want but that emo/rage SoundCloud era was different unique and spoke to a generation just like the blog era spoke to mine
Current era we in has no direction, no narrative. Everyone just putting out projects and songs just cuz
Carti lowkey the only one keeping things interesting.
Culture would’ve been in such a fascinating space with X Uzi Juice Peep and Carti leading the way.
Uzi went on a twitch interview and talked about being a a big fan of Juice, really gave him a lot of props for how big he would have been. I think what you're saying is true just because when X died he said that X was the only artist he truly viewed as competition. I think to an extent him and Carti have that dynamic but Carti just isn't as commercially driven. someone like Drake or Kendrick is fueled by being the best, and when no one is challenging you, it can leave a void in your head because once you are out of enemies / competitors the only one who can take you out is you making a mistake. I also think that the loss of X and to a lesser extent Juice has led Uzi to not dropping a ton of music and his long gaps between projects nowadays, he is under a lot of pressure and will be criticized heavily if he ever flops or puts out a bad album

if it weren't for Pac, gangster rap as we know it wouldn't even exist, and honestly the world would probably be better for it

Nigga putting states and countries like it matters. They all under the Chief Keef tree. Every single one of them lmao
Yes. A 16 year old kid changed rap forever. Kind of crazy right?
Why we don’t die at birth and live at death?
Why death dont live at birth?
Hip hop is in a great place right not. Anyone saying otherwise don’t listen to enough music and only listen to the s*** that’s pushed on them.
