casual listeners know Metro Boomin lol he’s literally every casual listener’s favorite part of FSMH1

They know the tag, but if you were to ask the average casual listener who produced it - I don't think they'd be able to answer Hell, really casual listeners only know big hits and singles. They probably wouldn't even know what FSMH1 is

I’m just pulling up receipts you’re the one going into defense mode

“ pulling up receipts “ hitboy and big Sean being friends with drake doesn’t really have to do with the topic of producer tags . Kanye far from perfect but if niggas don’t know hitboy did niggas in Paris that’s on them he didn’t miss out on some magical opportunities from people who can’t google

I think we can all agree a tag is fine if it sounds good. All of Metro’s tags are great that’s why it works. Plus it is harder to create a signature sound nowadays bc of the internet and everyone using the same sounds (Pierre clones etc etc). Although the really great producers really don’t need them. Like I can tell it’s a whitearmor beat but he doesn’t have a tag

    Depends on what you want

Quincy Jones aint have a “Quincy Jones on the beat nigga!” tag and he still a legend

If you wanna be in the mix and become a celebrity, by all means get u a tag

That’s Hit Boy fault though, he a grown ass man and decided not to use tags just cause Ye said it was corny

Howling at the idea of Quincy's tag

I think we just have different ideas of a casual listener. I'm thinking only listens to radio or what's popping on streaming, K-pop stanning tier casual

You're probably thinking someone who listens to albums but not dedicated enough to be on a music forum type casual

  • Oct 29, 2021

I think it would be cool if people had signature tags like Dilla

He had that siren from a Mantronix song, it’s not annoying, it’s recognizable and it’s legendary

But also Dilla beats spoke for themselves

K-Pop stans are literally the opposite of casual lol

FSMH1 was all over the radio when it came out

even if they didn’t know the name Metro Boomin, they knew his tag & recognized it whenever it was played on other beats he produced that wound up on the radio

  • Oct 29, 2021

also I think the whole point was for hitboy to come up with his own signature sound b it he didn’t really do that. He’s an amazing producer but honestly I can’t even picture in my head what a hitboy type beat really is except like the new big Sean stuff I guess. Plus his tag is so generic And boring so honestly he’s kinda f***ed himself both ways (pause)

Hitboy has angry with Kanye for a minute now this isn’t the first instance. Rather you like it or not this beef is part of their careers collectively. They created it. It just sounds like you are a person who sides with Kanye.

I don’t lol Kanye got to credit and pay producers but the only way hitboy been getting attention is by name dropping nearly decade old s*** with Kanye

  • Oct 29, 2021

how did this get to 15 pages

  • Oct 29, 2021

Decade old and he still bringing it up like we get it

  • Oct 29, 2021

It is interesting that at the same time Ye stopped f***ing with Hit-Boy cuz of the Beyonce placements that he decided to stop making music for the mainstream and gave us Yeezus

This isnt the gotcha you think it is. Obv he got rid of it and his artistry improved (not bc of removing the tag) but his beats became recognizable bc of his signature sound he crafted. Plus the tag sounds good w the beat here it’s not out of place

    “It’s different because it’s KANYE”

  • Oct 29, 2021

Hit Boy STILL talking about Kanye and in the least shocking event of the century, he has now recruited “Big Sean” to the party.

    How will Kanye ever recover

  • Oct 29, 2021
