wow
I’ve seen this coming for a few months now.
Videos of black vs white violence all over my timeline. Some kind of brutal beating every week with a racial slant behind it. Now culminating with this.
Media needs content for the summer. Nothing brings in views like a race war.
How exactly am I the one ‘dodging’? You are the one scapegoating the most vulnerable populations to explain away larger social issues. That sounds like a doge to me.
(Some would call it cowardly, really pathetic too)
Point me to one study—economic, historical, or social—that makes a coherent argument about homeless people being the originating problem for a city/financial sector’s issues with economic and social stability. Homelessness is generally understood to be a symptom; acknowledging that is not a ‘dodge’, especially when some politicians like to portray things differently to placate an agitated public

Again, maybe consider reading this article. I'm not saying that homeless people don't have rights or that homelessness isn't a symptom of a broken system. What's going on (as I said) is that crime ties into homelessness, which is driving local businesses away from where I live. I don't understand why you are trying to refute these claims considering you have no idea where I'm even located.
Would also like to spot out - I'm not talking about the unhoused who are actively seeking out help for their situation. There's a large population of homeless that are addicted to d****, violent, and commit crimes. Nobody wants to talk about how Reagan basically accelerated this by changing the Mental Health Care Act in 1981. But it's true that letting these people out of mental hospitals outright caused a huge systemic issue in our country.
you are looking at this from an extremely weird angle if the blame is placed on people giving other people in need money instead of the reasons why they are in that position in the first place
Giving money to them most of the time just enables them to do more d**** and cause problems.
What really needs to happen in this country is forced rehabilitation to society, but nobody will ever support this.

Because it is forced
Because it is forced
And why is forcing someone to get better and become a productive member of society a bad thing?
Bro really might be the most useless mayor of NYC I've seen in my lifetime

they don’t arrest people for being homeless
Not only do they arrest people for being homeless, but they arrest people for giving food and money to the homeless
Not only do they arrest people for being homeless, but they arrest people for giving food and money to the homeless
not here in cali
The more is that this is NYC and situations like this can go wrong in a heartbeat and as citizens and subway riders we are always on high alert when it comes to aggressive homeless individuals
Unfortunate that he passed away but I'm sure most straphangers were appreciative that someone intervened and eased their minds
I doubt most people ITT live in the city and understand the climate. Regardless I believe he will eventually face charges of some sort.

I've mostly ignored this viral execution or whatever
But again, it seems obvious that what needs to be addressed are the conditions that lead to obviously mentally ill and unhoused and repeatedly jailed people even existing. At all!
Instead we have another viral trial to personalize all of this on one guy. For a few months then we'll move on to some other viral trial obscuring something else wrong with this country
What's everyone's opinion on bringing back mental hospitals if people are clearly going through life threatening issues like this? Reagan (I believe) basically abolished these and let all these people out to the public.
surely you’re talking about putting the white dude who choked him to death in the mental hospital, right?
