Not really. A lot of R&B fans even artists from older generation to now are more accepting of newer sounds than Rap tbh.

1. What newer sounds are there in rap to be open minded or close minded to? And I don’t mean trap beats with synths and electric guitar samples but like actual new prominent sounds

2. That may be true about older artists but that’s completely separate from the r&b listening community. Average r&b listeners are really traditionalist and far more gatekeepy than rap fans. What someone like Yeat or any of the new guys would be to hiphop tradition…an r&b version of that would not fly
