If SZA was on any other label she would've been burnt out by now but she's sustained relevancy for 6 years now and isn't slowing down any time soon
like who?
With that being said, it couldn’t be that hard to keep us satisfied. The one artist appreciation week they had last year was absolutely not enough. How hard is it to drop a loosie here and there? That goes for Kendrick too, dude has done nothing to keep us even slightly fed
SZA is an absolute mess of an artist
Dope but a mess
one album and it's a classic. what a mess
TDE definitely does some dumb s*** with their rollouts. But I’m not going to put all the blame on them for the hiatuses we’ve seen from them. SZA clearly is insecure about her music, Isaiah also probably is and there were other things that caused the delay. For Kendrick, he does what he wants anyways so it’s not really top dawgs fault for him not dropping. Now, we’re about to see some dumb s*** when this single officially drops and we don’t hear another word on Zay’s rollout for months. I really hope they prove us wrong but it’s what’s likely going to happen
fr yeah i know artists who will never drop s*** solely bc they think it sounds bad, no matter how many people want it
Could totally see this happening at TDE, SZA doesnt wanna drop her album and management 2 busy getting faded 2 tell her otherwise.
They rollouts really do be all over the place. Maybe SZA dropped a song just to shut fans up about asking for new music cause her album ain’t done
That’s all it was
Dangeroo or watever is woat manager of all time. Really dropped the ball and screwed the career of every artist on his label. Even J Snore and Melatoninville more relevant than Kendrick and tde at this point
Top Dawg is the new Suge Knight.
SZA signed to the label in 2014 and has only released 2 projects in 7 years.

i mean 2 projects in 7 years is 2 more than most artists signed to most labels

Suge Knight would've forced Isaiah into dropping unfinished projects and enabled his bad habits. lmfao.
You release a sza single that went top 10 with little to no promo. Then you drop a video as the song is losing momentum, only to go quiet after gaining some of it back. Then turn around and start a zay rollout out of nowhere, with no album release in sight.
It's coming out in June.
"Make me think"LOL
Meaning that it has substance and isn’t just saying nothing over a hard beat.
I like that s*** too but I prefer they take time and give an album I can sit with.
The rapid pace of releases for some artists and streaming has set this expectation for fans that we need new music every year.

That felt like a big "f you" to the fans, not appreciation lol.
Kendrick llama fans be like need to study this new Kendrick album to stimulate me mentally. Hes not boring u just need a certain level of intelligence to vibe.
You thought you had one huh
This
Zay had a kid
You can’t rush it. Idk when the narrative became TDE holding hostage.
Just cause people be dropping tapes every year doesnt mean everybody has to
"zay has a kid" okay... And what about the other 5 years he didn't drop
"zay has a kid" okay... And what about the other 5 years he didn't drop
So where was he? That depends on where you want to start. Consider the 30 days detoxing and surrendering to a higher power in an Orange County rehab facility; the time he was so drunk boarding a flight that the cops nearly arrested him (he still isn’t sure why they didn’t); the time he wrecked his Jeep; the other time he wrecked Top Dawg’s Honda but fixed it so that his label boss never found out. That time Isaiah — or Zay, as everyone calls him — returned home and swore he’d given up rapping for money, and the abyss he faced when he finally came back to L.A., dead broke, sleeping on a friend’s couch, having somehow spent all of his money on supporting friends and family, buying clothes, and eating “really expensive sandwiches.”

Yeah lmao literally nothing alike
And Suge was a slave master & b**** slapping everyone from engineers to producers to rappers & managers lol
pandemic, personal s*** happening and the albums prolly still being tweaked. kendrick said he got an album done but pandemic ruined it, zay dropping next month so simmer down & sza still working on her album

Pretty sure SZA is still working on her album, she only started a few months ago
Maybe she scrapped the previous versions she's made due to insecurity
Honestly dont know what this thread is talking about lol.
Only people that dont drop consistently are SZA, Isaiah & Soul. Who all also have their own personal issues that mainly delay their s***.
Everyone else is consistent, & they were focusing on Reason the last year or two.
Q is literally the biggest next to Kendrick & SZA, but it isnt the label's fault that he dropped an album that doesnt appeal to the mainstream or the hardcore. He literally tried to make an album "for everyone" that pleased no one which is how it usually goes when you try to do that. He really fumbled himself.
Rock is always niche & does what he wants as a vet, but he still had an album relatively recently. He always drops after long periods. Nothing new.
Sir & Reason are consistent af & probably the most consistent out the whole label with both feats & projects. They dont have a problem doing whatever whenever.
Skii & Zacari, well those two i dont know cuz i dont like them lol especially Skii. I dont keep up with them at all so i dont know, but i think Zacari had an EP in 2019.
Kendrick had Damn in 2017 & Black Panther in 2018 back to back. Its barely been 3 years total. Yall over exaggerate THE F*** out of his absence for whatever reason. I dont see it anywhere else. He will more than likely drop this or next year, he usually drops major projects within 3 years.
But yeah, its really not that bad overall.
