Like it’s people I know that will have almost no real passions or dreams and are just happy to work all their lives in a boring desk job like that’s their entire purpose

Do people not think about how amazing it is to even be alive, that they don’t even consider the incredible things we’re capable of achieving?

    money & not starving

Look I completely understand needing to make money, but that's not what I'm tryna say. I'm talking about people who have no passion for anything and just do what they "should" do, regardless of whether they need money like that

They're raising families or are content with just existing

This is a young person question, as you get older you'll learn to be more content to some level too

Content with existing. It's not mutually exclusive with being inspirious. They're happy with what they have, you can be happy but still want more.

They're priorities are just different than yours. Don't be surprised as you get older you relate more to them.

btw i dont fault any1 for being content. s*** is difficult in the real world and life isn't always meritocratic. just sharing how i feel

That's most healthy 20 year olds lol. People plan to have families man or just enjoy the simple things. They have their inspiration is vested in their kids and what they could potentially do.

Some people never get on the path, some people get it together later.

Bunch of 30 year olds were at the top of my graduating class.

I mean as long as you understand where it comes from. People are different and being more driven doesn't make anyone better, I've realized that as I've grown up.

I'd rather be remembered for not beig an a****** than super successful, because nothing matters after you die. Even if you innovated and changed the world, someone else would likely done it if you didn't anyway. You can't enjoy the prestige after you're dead and best you can do is pass on whatever you gained to people close to you.

if its true that its ultimately abt what you pass on to others isn't being "more successful" in a way that benefits lots of ppl (both in the present & in the future) a better outcome?

What society defines as success isn't clear. If you contributed to making someones life easier, that's a pretty good metric though.

well based on ur view we could establish "success" as benefitting lots of others right.

but ultimately i think its j more enjoyable for me to have large goals to pursue. i feel you and i def dont fault anybody for thinking differently
