I'm sorry but you need to get a grip. Guy releases music pretty much constantly, you ain't have to wait for anything

    I didn't like CLB either

Same with future high off life and INLY didn't hit.

These my two favourite artists as well

Drake is a legacy act at this point. One album not connecting right away does NOTHING to hurt his brand. As long as his next album has what people want from him, it’ll do Drake numbers.

This does nothing to his brand musically

Hell be fine when he drops another rap album

  • Jun 20, 2022

    Not at all tbh.

I mean, if CLB couldn't hurt Drake's brand, not much will. This album is out of his lane but it's not worse than CLB tbh.

CLB just had more mass appeal cause of all the songs, features, and being a rap-oriented album.

In a weird way this might actually help him because now people will start getting hyped for "Drake raps about his life in the same way he always does" and doing kneeslides when they hear Future, Young Thug etc. on the album. The 21 Savage track's reception could be a foreshadowing

  • Jun 20, 2022

This is actually the time in his career to do an album like this

He’s insulated against it impacting his legacy in any real material way. He has 6 prior albums, 1 collab album, and like 5 mixtapes that have solidified his brand as one of the best rappers and pop acts to ever do it

Not to mention he just did damn near 700k first week 9 months ago. He’ll be fine (for now)

  • Jun 20, 2022

Artists of his status will be selling well throughout this decade because they’re legends. Remember that Nas, Jay, Em have been putting out high selling rap albums for 25+ years at this point regardless of whether their music dipped in quality. That’s the status Drake is at. Kendrick and Cole too.

  • Jun 20, 2022

horribly, not entirely sure he will ever recover from this tbh

  • Jun 20, 2022

I dont see anybody over taking him so I’m not sure does anything to his brand

You're going to hear a lot of "the album is growing on me" this summer.

  • Jun 20, 2022

It didn't hurt it at all

  • not one bit

  • He hurt his brand in the short term, but he’s playing the long game with this one. This album will stay with people and will go down as a very essential Drake album.

  • Jun 20, 2022

Probably gonna have to start a YouTube channel now and become a streamer

  • Jun 20, 2022

hes improved and expanded it if anything

  • Jun 20, 2022

No it’s bait for people to call his next album classic/return to form when it’s the same thing he’s been doing since Views since niggas started to kinda call that out on CLB lol

    Two Birds One Stone lol

Not even sure what this means because both artists you named in OP still are performing well in this climate which is about a decade past their debuts which in itself is difficult to do so. How about some of the younger acts pick up the torch so we don’t have to have our legends carry the weight

I swear to god people gotta be dumb as s*** to say s*** like "first time Ive seen this many people dismissing his album across the board" when his albums have been dismissed as soon as they drop by casuals since Views
