D***riding aside
People are not checking for Drake the same way they were when CLB and Scorpion were set to be released. He’s still one of the biggest on the planet but I think some of that stay up till midnight excitement is gone
The HN thread and Twitter literally is proof that isnt true

that doesn’t negate what he said
I swear to god people gotta be dumb as s*** to say s*** like "first time Ive seen this many people dismissing his album across the board" when his albums have been dismissed as soon as they drop by casuals since Views
Even before that. The Take Care Memes and people crying because it didn’t have enough of his Houston sound. Drake projects rarely get praised on their first day
that doesn’t negate what he said
I’m saying people are still waiting up to see what Drake is dropping. Even after so many people called Scorpion terrible, bloated etc they still were highly anticipating CLB (and again with negative reviews) and were still up for this album waiting to see what Drake was about to do next.
Although this project is terrible he didn’t hurt his brand.
He’s been a pop star rapper for quite some time at this point. He just need another rap hit song or just a hit song with some rap elements and he’ll be straight. Niggas will be eating up the next midpack.
Also this s*** not gonna age well. Stop the cap lmfao
Honestly, this s*** trash is legit a garbage can with a Drake sticker on it
Not even sure what this means because both artists you named in OP still are performing well in this climate which is about a decade past their debuts which in itself is difficult to do so. How about some of the younger acts pick up the torch so we don’t have to have our legends carry the weight
so what ur sayin is drake cant do it like kanye
How many times does McDonalds f*** up the order and people still get another. He's good
youre prob my favorite drake hater
He hasn't made a good album in a long time. I think it almost doesn't matter what he releases
Yeah he jus sound like a cornball over gospel music, but that didn’t hurt him tho
Also we know Drake can get a hit whenever he really tries. The question is if he’s still interested in doing that.
Sticky is 1000% an attempt at a hit. That jersey club sound is the most popular sound going off on Tik tok right now. Drake and his team knows that. It’s a reason that’s the only non rap song on the album that he rapped on. A “hit” is no longer the big hook etc.
I’d given up on Drake for a long time. Releasing an album this risky restored some of the faith I once had in him

Has anybody went off on the charts with it though? Tik Tok has lots of viral juice but pays peanuts itself while the waves are instantaneous and fleeting from what I can tell
nah. it does enable him to open up and try new types of albums.
the only thing that’s hurt are his stans feelings who chart watch. they cried a lot this weekend over nothing

None have because they aren’t major label acts or known at all for that matter. Other elements come into play too. For example, that Cupid song by 2rare that went crazy on Tik tok earlier in 2022 isn’t even on streaming because he couldn’t get the rights to the beat and clear the sample. It went up up on YouTube though. If he could clear what he needed to, then signed to a major and they pushed the song to the playlists/radio etc, it definitely could’ve been a much bigger song.
Drake doing this takes the potential of the sound to a whole other level though. I’m sure other major artists will try it

this is so accurate
this new album is like when McDonald’s releases another burger with a different sauce. Tastes a bit different but it’s still McDonald’s

PinkPantheress is on a WMG imprint.

What does she have to do anything we were talking about. She doesn’t make jersey club let alone House and her streaming numbers are crazy.
not at all this whole forum still on his d***

She's an example of a vocalist on a less commercial style of EDM that is viral on TikTok and also signed to a major.
Don't make me spoon-feed you
