Self inflicted obesity (where you made yourself fat) is usually due to overcompensating to something else in life
"Try one month for $1"
And most studies about fat shaming aren't taking the right approach. The point of fat shaming isn't to shame fat people into losing weight, it's to deter already healthy people from becoming overweight/obese.
That's the way it is in most Asian countries. From birth they are constantly reminded to be careful and not get fat. They never become fat to begin with.
Surely on that basis bringing up fat shaming in the first place is a bit pointless as the problem you seem to have identified is more with the already existing high obesity rate, not really the threat of it getting worse
Also the taxing obese people idea is a really awful one bro, are you really saying the state should potentially make people destitute because of their weight?
I get why you might think this would help, but I don’t think it would. Arguably you’d run the risk of creating a new public health crisis due to the inevitable market for all manner of dodgy weight loss treatments/supplements etc that would spring up to take advantage of people desperate to lose the weight and avoid punishment
Everytime you walk into a store, there will be a mat that weighs you when you walk across it at the door. Like there's no way to avoid it. So they prices will reflect your weight. lol. the more you weigh, the more you pay.
that definitely is a tax on tall people also tho

Would be nice to fix both. Stop people from becoming obese and cure those who already are.
If I had to pick one I’d pick stop people from becoming obese. Better for our future.

he's not the most consistent thinker.
fat shaming has the opposite effect

maybe we should fix our food supply instead of taxing and harassing people lol
"The results were based on a survey, rather than experimental data, so you can't make conclusions about whether the fat-shaming actually caused the weight gain" nice study brah
Take away fast food drive through's and put obstacle course's inside fast food restaurants in order to reach the cash register.
Bruh I haven’t laughed this hard in months
but honestly food education. even p.e classes don't teach people about caloric deficits and maintenance
The solution: eat real food and quit eating processed foods / sugar
The problem: majority of Americans cannot afford healthy diets. Also: capitalism

there are other studies about the topic of fat shaming but for sure bro
We could make healthy food cheaper?
what is healthy food? and lots of essential carbs and proteins and viatims (chicken, rice, oatmeal, nuts and oils, fruits and vegetables) are fairly cheap and accessible

Who determines what is healthy or not?
Diet is still not fully understood and most dietary guidance is subjective

yes dietary advice isn't generalized and changes from person to person. What is objective is how many calories certain foods have and what nutrients they give you. If you are trying to lose weight eat low calorie foods and burn calories. caloric surplus/ deficits is the only way we can administer weight change programs and it works for a large majority of people. but what is considered healthy depends on what the person is trying to do
It’s a mental and physical health education issue. In a lot of schools in the US the health and social science departments are an afterthought (It’s not something that’s tested on the state and national level). Knowledge in this field is something that is important in childhood and adulthood, yet the job of teaching it usually goes to someone who is under-qualified or from another department entirely.
These problems are not addressed and we end up with health classes teaching outdated or in some places flat out wrong information. That produces a whole crop of people that are completely clueless about their own health.

I did this. S*** was lit
Americans literally eat everything
even other countries resources
but they're forgiven from me
America doesn’t have wet markets
