You know what even though you’re super idealistic I actually agree but the way things are set up that won’t happen. I just think we need to accept and understand that suffering, crime and loss and all that ad stuff and essential parts of society that are needed for s*** to work.
From the cops to the judges to the niggas who sell crack. It’s all an interconnected and interdependent system that works how it was designed to. You’re lucky if you can just get by without feeling any of this extremes and living a relatively normal, ignorant life. I’m assuming we all benefit from this.

TLDT: There won’t be any new criminal justice system or police reform or nee alternatives because the current system has been designed perfectly to be what it is. It’s not flawed it just is and it works. As sad as it may be.

What are my thoughts? I think this post is a bunch of nonsense. What we have is not necessary for society to function. It is set upn that way because of how our society functions, and the principles of our society. Yes, it's working how it was designed, you can say that, but the design itself needs to be overthrown, abolished, and replaced. Don't go on saying that uprooting and changing society is not what anyone wants, that is exactly what I, and tons of others want, as has been the case throughout history.

Many due to their circumstances, tend to reoffend, this sounds like a plan to take out civilians who are already being targeted by harsh politics in the US :ghetto communities, excessive policing (several officers have repeatedly admitted to targeting brown/black people in poor communities to fill quotas) , minimum wage, very conservative political administrations that enact policies such as the war on d**** in the first place, etc

Imagine sentencing a person to death because they stole bread at gunpoint (the gun wasn't loaded but still illegally owned) once, then were caught with an illicit substance not for sale but to use twice, all in a span of let's say... ten years... (15-25,because yes the US charges minors with felonies and even death sentences/life long prison sentences)

i dont disagree that there needs to be reform but there is definitely a need to keep the people that commit crimes that show they are just too far gone from logic and rational thinking out of regular society.
