Season with salt and pepper

Lmao this dude knows nothing about cooking
Salt pepper both sides. Cast iron skillet high heat. A little bit of olive oil. Cook one side a few minutes. Flip it and throw some butter in there. Baste some of the butter over the top. All done in like 7 minutes, medium rare.
This is the proper way to make a steak. Dude out here using Montreal seasoning like that ain't some low class pseudocuisine for dollar store steaks
You missed the whole part of marinating your steak
Marinating is for dollar store syeaks
The salt pepper only bs is something amateur “grillers” believe that’s somehow been taken as like actual chefs wisdom
It sounds like you've never had a steak from An actual chef
everything in this thread is so truu
also bathe it in butter when you flip it on the other side OP

Lol no, cause ive had all types of steaks and prime or choice steaks both benefit from marinating due to the juices. Y'all really think adding spices ruins your precious pure cow beef taste

If you've even had cheap dollar store steaks, you'd know seasoning doesn't save it cause the meat doesn't even absorb it correctly, and the texture is barely edible outside of taste

Proved my point
Season with salt/pepper, warm it in the oven on 350 for a bit and then cook it in a pan with clarified butter on high/med-high heat just enough to get a nice sear. Aim for around 135 degrees, high end of medium rare.
Real for this, salt/pepper rub mad
Underrated
Also steak is super overrated and is really only worth the price if you cooking it yourself
