This.
Feel like in the last 2yrs or so, there have been so many acronyms, pronouns and terms to identify people than I can keep up with

I never see anyone with more than they them
Your father should freak the f*** out about it. How is forcing people to describe themselves a forward thinking concept? Isn't college supposed to be about freedom of thought?
I don't care what people do or how they want to be referred. I have a friend who prefers "they/them" and I consciously try to respect this in conversation with them, but your professors a f***ing clown.
Idk I think it's weird but not that big of a deal. Everyone has a label no matter how anyone feels about it anyways. Then again maybe it's a dark precedent? Idk
I'm a returning student and that was the first thing to make me go "the f*** happened in 3 years" but worse s*** has happened to my campus

I hear you, in my opinion it's some next level bullshit.
It being a thing your professor is all about is one thing, that's their right, but your grade, even just a small part of it, shouldn't be dependent on forcing you to pick an identify.
If we're supposed to respect peoples pronouns, and in my opinion there's no reason not to respect them if that's what people want to be called, then you should respect the lack of one as well.
why do ppl need to use the term cisgender what’s wrong w just male” “female”
right? I don't get it
right? I don't get it
if you straight male/female and need to use the term straight cisgender to describe yourself then you shouldn’t have a problem w ppl wanting to use she/her. y’all the same kinda ppl imo

some feel that they lay outside of gender spectrum or it just specifies like for example trans, non-binary, two spirit. when i was younger and more immature i used to be making fun of these people but now i understand and i hope more people do the same.
To make it less "weird" when trans people have pronouns in their bios? no its not "corny" its an extremely easy way to support trans people & help normalize that s*** ya dig

exactly. and besides, its completely harmless. at worse you'll get people calling you a clout chaser or smth but who cares
i dont do it often myself but the point isn't just for lgbtq people. its to try and never assume anyones gender. allies putting it in their bios just normalizes everything
those who go by they/them/theirs or are transgender don't need to be the only ones who do that lol that doesn't help to leave them alone
not really harmful or anything that should be actively thought about. just being an ally to a community
its fine you gotta be some edgy 14 year old 4chan kid if you don't like it
Lol you would think, right
I hate when a straight woman does it on her profile cause then i just look at the whole profile like

if cis ppl do it too it’ll help normalise the act of sharing one’s pronouns upfront so it doesn’t feel like a potentially isolating or marginalising experience for trans or nb ppl
basically it’s makes an open space so ppl can talk about pronouns and can say their preferred pronouns without feeling burdened or like the odd one out
if that makes sense
