If I was working 40 hours a week I'd be caked & clouted up
In order for my job to be effective 40 hours isn't do-able anyway unless I was able to teleport or have a car at least
I have no debt and I work a job that brings me a sense of meaning in my life via helping those who need it most. It impacts my immediate and local community in ways that are easy to see. My immediate boss and really all of the management team are also incredibly kind-hearted, down to earth, empathetic, and hard working people. So it's a joy to work for them tbh.
So I am happy with my job.
I should still have less hours and more pay but thats a different thread.
this sounds like the dream man. What do you do?
To the people that said some s*** a la "well duhh why do you care bro if you got it figured out? worry about yourself"
I care because I see this s*** suck the life out of friends and family in real time. Some of the most creative people with the brightest personalities around me have turned into shells of their former selves ever since they've started working/going to college. It hurts seeing people you care about like that.
.
lol where the hell have you worked? i've found at least a few people i've liked at every place i've worked.
i make the most of it but work does suck. I'm working on getting out tho.
most people don't have to justify anything though, they ain't got a choice. gotta survive.
Exactly, people still think of business as brick and mortar with all these overhead costs, kids are running businesses out of their rooms lmao
No where did I say it applies to the traditional brick and mortar style. While yes I agree that entrepreneurship and running your own business has become more accessible, it still requires the skills and expertise needed that few are capable of.
Besides the success stories you hear and s*** on YouTube are mainly in the minority. Not trying to be a downer, if you got great ideas with ideal timing and know what you’re doing, then the rewards are HUGE.
Start a business. It doesn't even have to be anything grand. It can be small. Helped me keep my sanity. These days I feel like I'm actually LIVING and not just surviving.
I know of a girl with tourettes who started a business from selling seashells on Etsy because no one would hire her. She's well off now off of a small Etsy store.
u sure she isn't getting some extra money from the state since she has tourettes?
what kinda business u got?
the r/antiwork crowd are eternally miserable lol
gotta admit though, i genuinely like my job but id be pretty upset if i worked the same one for 40 years. job hopping keeps things interesting.

I get the anger at working a job but what these morons don’t get is that no matter what political/economic system, they would still have to work

Imagine thinking I browse f***ing Reddit of all places

you’d fit in
That's why in my opinion it's nice to pick a job that aligns with what you like to do (even though it's still gonna be work at the end of the day). I mean work is pretty much most of the days of the week anyways.
Try not to think about it
Worst thing I ever did in high school, the earlier the better
