Take it from me, a fellow Asian guy. I understand the frustration, but you gotta realize it's toxic to dwell so much on the resentment. The only way to make things better is to talk it out civilly and without any hostility. This tension is all due to a huge misunderstanding in the first place. We're supposed to be the young generation that puts an end to it by having a dialogue about it.

Take it from me, a forum nerd who's been on KTT since 2010. KTT isn't really a place where civil discussion always works, especially when people are ignorant to something as much as they are with Asian culture on here. If you haven't noticed people on here don't really like to listen or have an open mind on certain s***. If you ask anyone whos been on KTT I been the only guy talking positive Asian stuff on this site since the beginning, so much so, that whenever there's positive Asian stuff going on they're always make jokes about me and being alts n s*** lol

Not in my experience. I've had positive talks with folks on here all the time. All it takes is being willing to listen.

I've seen the passive-aggressive anti-Asian stuff, especially in almost every thread that's remotely Asian-related.

Most of the time, when people say derogatory, overly generalized things, they don't actually mean it. That's just their frustration talking. No different from what you did; I know you slipped up here and there in this thread, too.

You just gotta talk it about peacefully, acknowledge their perspective, understand it, and tell it how you see it without playing the blame game. You can't just lash out at people and expect them to understand.

You're right bro, although I do kind of disagree to an extent about the people on here listening.

But ill be the first to admit I grew up watching family members get disrespected for being Asian. My family were immigrants and came here to LA so I know what that experience is like and maybe I internalize it sometimes

I understand it, and it's frustrating being a young kid and feeling like I couldn't do anything about it. I know how it all feels, but those people doing the disrespecting are likely doing so from a place of pain. We need to acknowledge that and talk it out with them.
