I feel like in any other time period people would've said enough is enough and went on a mass strike throughout the country. They took 8 months to come to the conclusion we should only get $600 and $300 extra in unemployment lmfao. a lot of people still had employment throughout this time, the $600 is just a bonus at this point. they have still been able to pay rent, buy groceries, etc. some even started to make more money

not saying it’s right, just answering your question as to why US citizens aren’t reacting as whole

many people have had it extremely hard, but for many other people, nothing has changed, that’s what it really boils down to

edit: i do agree though, a one time $1200 payment and now a $600 payment is a complete joke. we are an extremely rich country, and our government should be doing a better job of taking care of its citizens that are in a hardship position right now
