his albums are really f***ing good

they perfectly encapsulate the coolest parts of the cultural space he occupies, at least for the time when he made them. like Channel Orange is the coolest s*** out of 2012, distilled and perfectly packaged. very high production value too.

same goes for blonde. arguably no other album does a better job of capturing what 2016 was all about.

influence is a really really nebulous metric, its goofy asl to me when ppl try to rank artists based on that. The music is rlly good and emblematic of the time it was made. that's what matters

dawg im crine. cant be serious

If I couldn’t understand why Frank is who he is

Life would be a lot simpler I feel like. I’d just sit there wearing my lil helmet, my Mario kart music playing in my empty lil head, eating my applesauce

You’re lucky op, no need to be frustrated

    It’s really not that good
His only good album was in 2012
Idk how Blonde got put on such a high pedestal

I'll give you the benefit of doubt and assume you're arguing in good faith

Blonde is an artistic masterpiece. It's not full of pop hits, it's not what people expected following CO, but it has a very clear influence on RnB and is inarguably a classic. If you don't like it that's fine, it is pretty alternative. It's not gunna hit for everybody. Plenty of s*** I don't like gets put on a high pedestal

Because a bunch of children who were "rap fans" got laundered into Frank through Odd Future (only s*** they listened to besides Kanye) and he broke their cherry on the music they eventually abandoned being "rap fans" for

Equating Frank to PND is one of the most brainless takes I’ve ever heard

I blame the rise of AI for the negative brain cells of the average music consumer nowadays

You have two artists. One whom embraces the glitz and glamour and puts on a spectacle of a show with a setlist of songs everyone from your grandma to your niece would know.

The other who takes the opportunity of headlining the world’s biggest festival, and completely throws it away. Maybe it’s his indecisiveness, maybe it’s the depression of losing his brother, but he completely and utterly bombs in a beautiful fashion.

Some people prefer the first artist. I personally prefer The second.

If you are asking this you have to place yourself in 2011 and watch his career trajectory until 2017, and that's where things started to go for his legacy.
